memory leaks are kind of like precum if you think about it like, a good christian program wouldn't leak memory. and yet many do some can't stop themselves from indulging, and end up thrashing i bet that feels good for the computer and the oom killer? that must be the equivalent of an orgasm ergo you shouldn't complain about software leaking memory – that's slutshaming, and it's not okay

okay, so sometimes nvim just hangs for me, which I assume has something to do with the Coq integration I'm using. how would I go about figuring out what's going on, so that I could fix the issue? there ought to be some kind of debugging tool that'd make light work out of this kind of issue, right?

there's a certain genre of movies that, I believe, are best classified as the cinematic equivalent of an area denial weapon, and i think that's beautiful. see e.g. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124819/

okay so methylphenidate helps a lot with doing what i actually want to be doing... unless of course that thing is going to sleep. which means i don't have a good method of going to sleep at a reasonable hour. which means that a class that starts at 12 is the earliest i can show up at semi-reliably (and even then it has to be a class i really want to attend) please send help, it is 7am and i haven't managed to go to sleep yet. there's no classes for the rest of the week...

@mwk: "if anyone asks, I did not say you're supposed to do it like that" I turn around, and see her using a medical needle, attached to a syringe and everything, to measure the voltage on a DC jack. I guess the actual multimeter probes were far too thick to fit into the connector :neocat_solder_googly:

putting this on my reading list: https://yangzhixuan.github.io/NbE.html Normalisation by evaluation is known to be more efficient in practice than substitution-based normalisers. Glueing proofs nicely explains why normalisation by evaluation is correct, but I find that they don’t tell us much about why normalisation by evaluation is fast. In this article, I will try to shed some light on the latter question by showing how we can spot the sources of inefficiency in a naive substitution-based nor...
