Railway bridge over a country road, built between 1916 and 1925. Part of a planned marshalling yard, one of the largest such projects in Europe, never completed. Construction began during World War I due to acute rail capacity shortages. In the postwar economic crisis, work was permanently halted in 1925, before the facility ever went into operation. The bridge remained standing, a relic of an unfinished large scale project. #Lostplace #Bnw #Blackandwhite #Monochrome #History #Photography

Where heavy trains once rolled and the steady clack of metal marked the pulse of industry, nature is now slowly taking back command. Weathered wooden ties, aged fasteners, and tracks disappearing into the high grass silent witnesses to a bygone era. Every detail tells a story of labor, movement, and unstoppable change. You just have to look closely to hear the stories whispering between the rails. #Bnw #Lostplaces #Monochrome #Railway #History #Blackandwhite #abandoned #railway #Austria

A fascinating relic of industrial history: This historic electric winch with remnants of its original green paint was manufactured in 1955 by the machine factory Ebbs & Radinger at Enenkelstraße 28-30 in Vienna XVI. The robust mechanics testify to durable engineering from days gone by. The former company no longer exists, but such authentic finds keep the memory of that bygone era alive. #Bnw #SilentSunday #Blackandwhitephotography #Vienna #Monochrome #Industrialdecay #History #Austria
