Being a rather anti #soccer bird, the Trump initiated wold cup soccer drama was a bit of a fun bit to wake up to. One would think having FIFA award Trump the "FIFA Peace Price", a price created with the sole to stroke Trumps ego, would be hard to top, but as this didn't really affect football directly, it didn't seem to create too much stir. Trump telling FIFA president Infantino to correct the "grave injustice" it was to give a US player a on...

Reading about the #Greenparty in the UK, and having read some about the Green party in Germany, and seeing how the Green Party in Norway position themselves, it is important to remember that, while these parties may share some common ground, the name and this common ground does not make them the same. I mean, we are already there with the Labor parties, so it isn't all that surprising. Without digging too much, it feels like the UK has the best of the "Green" parties....

These "fake review" sites are quite handy. The product they try to push at you are always rated as the "top choice", but ignore that and look the next couple of options, and you have a good baseline for what products to look for :O

2/2 "I regret having contact with the sexual predator Epstein" is such a common response when these people are asked. Like, if it wasn't for that bit, everything would be ok? That leader of the Nobel peace price committee somehow facilitated contact between Epstein and Putin, is only problematic because Epstein was a sexual predator? Davos / WEF pitched to take over for United Nations would have been ok if Epstein wasn't a sexual predator? This is what it sounds like when t...

Trans women in sports is a very touchy subject, but life isn't about sports and we should not base gender identity on an oddly defined binary for how we separate people into "two main teams" But the anger about the Algerian boxer shows what the end goal really is. To "own" the definition of "what it means to be a woman". The more this idea gets to live, the more cis women will fail to pass the "qualifying criteria" of being a woman. Trans women bein...

"Time for annual review. First, the standard question: Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?" "I have quit this job. I work at a consultancy called "No #Slop", rebuilding and fixing non-maintainable #Vibe coded systems. There is way too much job for us, we work overtime to make sure critical infrastructure is working so society does not collapse. The pay is amazing, I make so much money, but the stress... I drink fancy drinks and drive fast,...

#NorskTut

Fun internet-bit about the apartment we bought, moved in summer last year. The router from the ISP is in the "fuse box" cabinet, "non electrical" side, where internet get into the apartment. From there, 6 ethernet cables go out of the "fusebox" cabinet and into the wall. I know where two of them end up. The other 4, I have no idea. It would be neat to be able to have our servers elsewhere than where all the other computers are, and connect...

If you shame a person with #tourette's for the words that come out, you are not a person "fighting the good fight", no matter how much you like to think you are. You are an #ableist p.o.s. This isn't being a "good anti racist" it is being a puritan. To judge people for something they literately have no control over brings us one step closer to new "ugly laws", and this is NOT where we want to go. #bafta
