  Testing route guidance on the #UNAWatch this morning. Really happy to see that the screen is perfectly feasible for navigation use. Still a few UI tweaks and then this will be released as part of the #VertMatch trail running app for the watch.

  I can't figure out how to switch between 2 windows of the same app with keyboard on Macos. alt+tab switches apps. In the past, I always added a keybinding to switch app windows, but I can't figure out how to add this keybinding anymore. Macos usability has always been poor. But it just keep getting worse over time. For some, unjutified, reason Apple just has gotten a reputation of being usr friendly but in my opinion all their platforms are anytihng but.

  The #UNAWatch folks lowered the watch price to 199€, which I think is the right proce for it. I've been very happy with mine. With the known limitations, I can fully recommend the watch. There is an avtive app dev community building 3rd party apps already.   Indoor Bike App 2.0 is now live and availabele for everyone to try. https://indoorbike.app With new design language and ride modes Just Ride and Route this adds qutie a bit. Just Ride is simple, you just ride and adjust the resistance as you want. Route is much more intersting but also still a bit early releas and expecting it will have issue (which we will fix asap). Route mode is a simulation of a real works route. Let me explain ..

  If you still write software for Android, one of the top priority in your architecture design should be full avoidance of using Google Play Services. This way you will make it possible for your app to appear in non-Google Android systems like Murena. This will become very important soon. People should, and hopefully will, start to prioritise non-Google Android devices. The health of the app ecosystem on those devices will dictate the speed of transition. App devs have the power to help.

  I really don't miss looking at the code. Code was always the means to the end for me. I spent 35 years learning to write code so I could craft software users find valuable. I no longer need to look at the code. I can fully focus on the value to the user.

  Spending a couple of days in Mandarfen it's striking how much nicer a town feels when there's no though car traffic. The valley ends at the town so people drove here and from here but not through. The complete lack of me-like-broom-broom people here is very apparent. Not motorcycle noice echoing through the valley constantly like it's in many places in the Alps. I don't want to ban cars. Just the idiots.

  Garmin, Starva and a like use user contributed data which they sell as part of their paid scubscriptions. This really annoys me. I want to avoid doing the same with #VertMatch Firstly, I want to keep the Climb Database freely available to everyine. Forever (assuming I can find ways to cover server costs). Secondly, I'm setting up a reward system that automatically gathers poinst to users from every contribution. A certain level automatically converts into a free premium month.

  I quite like the racing history card on #VertMatch It gives a nice overview of past suffering and enjoyment. Also, it put the Piztal course in context.
