This is the week for those songs. There are no wrong interpretations 😀 Upcoming w...

Hey it's #alternateFridayMusic 🎉 and the cue this week is: #bleak I'm bringing the bleak from the 90's dancefloors: Sonic Animation - Love Lies Bleeding There's a funny video clip for the radio edit but I prefer the longer album version. Sometimes you need a little help to deal with the bleak moments in life: 🎶 I'm feeling speedy, I'm feeling slow, I'm feeling seedy I'm feeling greedy, I'm feeling happy, I'm feeling shite I'm feeling you You'...

Dance time for #alternateFridayMusic 🎉 and the cue this week is: #parody This Molvanian entry for Eurovision may have been disqualified but it lives on forever in our hearts and on our dancefloors: Zlad! - Elektronik Supersonik The Cold War never ended but lives on in this melodic fusion combining hot disco rhythms with cold war rhetoric. Even more #alternateFridayMusic 🎉 and the cue this week is: #parody This R.E.M. one's thick with in jokes from 1993, particularly Australian ones: The Late Show - Everybody Hurts R.I.P. Peter Brock who makes a guest appearance. It was a line ball to go with Tony Martin's cutting take down of R.E.M.'s Stand - in particular Michael Stipe's lyric writing. Definitely one for the music nerds. @dgar@aus.social  @electric_gumball@mastodon.social @Bishopjoey@writing.exchange @fc@u...

Part Dylan, part something else, some of the lyrics here have aged unexpectedly well: 🎶 I don't eat curry, I don't eat jam I don't drink cider and I don't like spam I've never tasted Vegemite tin spaghetti or Activite I don't go camping in a Kombi...

Even more #alternateFridayMusic 🎉 Well now history is a pack of lies, as any fool can tell. So when I got down to Hobart town I told my story well. But do you think they would believe one word I said? For they thought that I was covering for my mates still at large. Said they'd be roaming in the bush so wild and free and back to old Macquarie Harbour they sent me: liar A true tale of horror in the most beautiful place in the world. You should visit all the places named in this song: Wedd...

Hey! It's #fortnightFridayMusic & the cue is: #thunder Sometimes songs don't age badly, society does. Lyrically, they foresaw the future in this banger, probalby my favourite of theirs: TISM - Thunderbirds Are Coming Out Shot in one take, the video features 30 bands from the Melbourne scene in 1998 miming to this song. It's not only funny but also now a nostalgic snapshot. Of all the bands in this video,on #TISM and the Ringwood Secondary College Choir & Orchestra are th...
