@nelson@infosec.exchange #TIL you don't have to slavishly create a .gitignore for every project, and you don't have to broadcast personal files you are ignoring. I've used #git for years, and this is a revelation... https://nelson.cloud/.gitignore-isnt-the-only-way-to-ignore-files-in-git/ Thank you Nelson, whoever you are!

Command line argument processing is always going to be a messy business, being at the human-machine interface. Guile software developers have a plethora of tools available to address the problem, but usually with some outstanding issue or other. Here is my take on the matter in the context of #mcron. https://khleedril.org/blog/2026-05-06--guile-arguments.html #guile #programming

Being a member of the British Science Fiction Association, I get access to the deep analytical thoughts of academics on the subject. And now this absolute gem has appeared, exploring the diversity of on-line presences available to those wishing to move away from the algorithmic doom-scrolling, and the philosophical drives for these alt-systems. I love this! https://wp.me/p13Uo-3vM #writing #reading #indieweb #smolweb #selfhosted #scifi #bsfa #mastodon

@McWabbit The reason RAM prices went up is the bully billionaires want to outlaw personal ownership of computers and force us to use theirs instead, at considerable cost.

My rationale for a dynamically-produced blog site, https://khleedril.org/blog/2026-03-07--dynamic-site.html, in response to https://islandinthenet.com/does-it-matter/. TL;DR Rust back-end for the win! #indieweb #computing #rustlang

@KurtHohmann I just enjoyed reading Thor's Hammer, loved how you acknowledged the mechanisms of the Earth in producing a cleansing human experience! Felt like I was there, standing in the rain.
