Hello good internet, I'm running well behind financially this month and I've not been able to sort out any other solutions. The amount I'm behind is around 500€ from a big bill and for two vet visits + taxi to/from the vet for the cat's annual checkups and vaccinations. If you're able to help : Wero (EUR)/Interac (CAD)/PayID (AUD) : kevin@mmn.ca Bank Card : https://buymeacoffee.com/kdwc BTC : bc1q3cc8aaprtccngmfpug6n08eml7clc9e2clzzn9 Thank you 🙏 @mutualaid@fedigroup...

I did a little change over to the old laptop and stuck it on the server shelf so I can VNC in. The downside is that I don't get the clack clack satisfaction of the keyboard, at the same time the mouse pad is broken from age, so I guess I improved the experience

When working with Masto and BlueSky on a text based terminal it's kind of obvious not a lot of people use alt-text (to which I'm also very guilty of) [IMAGE: No description] does make following a thread a non-starter. Followed shortly after by my shitty code that truncates alt-text because of course : [image: An oil painting showing a large, pale yellow mask with a spiky, sun...

Instead of sleeping like a normal person, I had a crisis that I forgot to setup an appropriate UA for the projects and scripts I've been working on over the last week

I've been running hot with go-away (https://git.gammaspectra.live/git/go-away) for a while now and I'm really starting to like the results. I had to put a few massively violent rules for scrapers trying to smash my blog posts, which is doing the job at blocking fake users when the signaled bots find themselves locked at the door. It's also very good at more fine rules to allow certain federated legitimate needs pass through. I'm far from done at tweaking, howev...

Because of LLMs and the enshittification graced upon us by search engines (no I’m not paying for Kagi don’t try to pitch it), I’ve spent an hour not finding a news story I know that exists yet somehow being constantly fed Anna Delveney’s story because « it’s a close enough »

Serious question, why does Firefox have its own DNS cache when my system has a perfectly good DNS crache of it’s own. Also why is there a CloudFlare DoH server mentioned when I told Firefox no fucking DoH please because it bypasses my own DNS block lists

I love this feature in all map apps when it just gets really fucking lost no matter how you zoom it just won’t show you a street name to orient yourself back

Found a Yahoo mail account used in open relay farming. Try to report to abuse@yahoo.com. Get redirected to a form, form needs a Yahoo ID. Find Yahoo ID. Form still won’t submit. And that folks is how you don’t have a spam or abuse problem, no reports no issue !

YouTube is getting on my tits. No matter what I try to do to get it to stop sending me to this fucking faux cozy music livestream on 18 different channels, it constantly forces the next video to be that. So I just reported it as spam after I had already down voted & told it to stop suggesting it 🤷‍♂️
