I just learned about the W3C's Reporting API from @Synchro@phpc.social who has been giving a talk about using it for client-side logging, live demo, pitfalls and practical tips included! 😊 #NDC #NDCOslo #softwaredevelopment #w3c

At NDC Oslo Kevin Gosse just talked about what he did to increase Jetbrains ReSharper's performance. I love it when people share their real problems and the talk was both informative and entertaining. Crazy that Jetbrains were able to build a much more useful tool (imo) for a Microsoft product than Microsoft themselves. #software #NDC #NDCOslo #jetbrains

I finally made something from a yarn I spun almost 10 years ago :D I only had 100g, which was exactly enough for a mesh sweater. I used this simple mesh pattern: https://www.knitca.com/lace24/ with 8mm needles and knitted in one piece from the top down. Surprisingly the sweater keeps me somewhat warm. #knitting #spinning

In October, I'm speaking at KanDDDinsky in Berlin. I’ll be sharing a talk that bridges the gap between my education in Structural Engineering and my career in Software Engineering. We'll explore the concepts both have in common and discuss what Software Engineering can learn from Structural Engineering. Looking forward to meeting lots of new people. And eating a Döner. Might eat a Currywurst as well, although Berliner Currywurst is known to be much inferior to Ruhrgebiet Currywurst. #kan...

Valar på land are on stage right now at No Excuse festival 2026, an all female fronted metal festival in Sätila, Sweden. Such a nice festival and really good band! https://noexcuse.nu/

A new version of SwatchIt is now available on F-Droid: https://f-droid.org/packages/net.damschen.swatchit/ It let's you filter and sort your swatches. As all the data you enter in the app is only stored on your device it would be a lot of manual work to move the data to another device. So I added export/import functionality some weeks ago (but forgot to announce it back then 😊). Let me know what you think! #swatchit #fdroid #knitting #opensource #androiddev

Career-wise I've gone full circle from Structural Engineer to Software Architect. I wrote down some thoughts on the parallels between the two disciplines, focusing on how Structural Idealization relates to Bounded Contexts, Interfaces and the necessity of Iteration. I also take a stand to rename "Software Architecture" to "Software Structural Engineering" 🏗️ https://katharina.damschen.net/post/2026-02-structural-idealization/ #blogpost #softwareengine...

RE: https://m.aardling.social/@dddeu/116125732876176011 I'm extremely excited to be speaking at DDDEurope in June! I also think it is so neat that my talk is part of the Foundations Track, what a nice concept. Really looking forward to this! 🎉

I'm on my way to Scan Agile in Helsinki to meet lots of interesting people! I'll also be giving a talk about an accessible way to start with Domain-driven Design. #ddd #conference #scanagile26 #scanagile #publicspeaking

I'm on my way home from #scanagile26. Met lots of interesting people and did manage to give my talk. I was extremely nervous, but survived! Was wearing another self made outfit. A skirt made from IKEA fabric (pattern is Sewaholic Hollyburn) and a knitted cardigan (pattern is Peacock Eyes by Justyna Lorkowska). #knitting #sewing #diy

I published another blog post drawing parallels between structural engineering and software engineering. This time I explain how the Limit State Design method helps structural engineers to design reliable structures while still building economical and how I think that relates to designing and building software systems. #blogpost #software #softwaredevelopment #softwareengineering #SoftwareArchitecture https://katharina.damschen.net/post/2026-03-limit-state-design/
