Seeing as I won’t be visiting the US voluntarily any time soon, I decided to stay an extra few days and see some sights.

Heaven is when all your US-based colleagues are taking a much-deserved post-WWDC break!

Found this in my org’s building during my recent trip. AFAICT it’s not deliberate, but rather an artefact of its design.

Now that I’ve had some sleep, I’ve come to the conclusion that I should definitely not toot about California the evening that I get there, when I’m weary from travel and jet lag. Not that I did — despite the impairments, Yesterday Quinn™ had the good sense to delete the toot rather than sending it — but it was close |-:

OTOH, if you see a very tall and not-at-all tubby man with long grey hair who’s probably not wearing a Celestial Teapot T-shirt, that’s likely my DTS colleague John. He’s friendly, so feel free to say “Hi” to him too.

I mourn the death of Bill Atkinson. But I also celebrate his life! We all benefited from his work, and none more than me. And while the standard adage is “Never meet your heroes”, in this case that’s nonsense. The few times I met him were an absolute delight.
