Pride month means different things to different people. To me it is a celebration of some the splendid variety that humanity has to offer. In that regard, I will say that AI should never be part of the celebration. fucking never

Today I drove for 1hour 45 minutes so that a neurologist could tell me to avoid driving for a month. :/

Today at a cardiology appointment, I was referred to as "jerza", despite wearing both a hat and a tshirt with my name on it. :)

sometimes I write code that is so shitty, it should be "git push"ed into a suppository; but it is 100% human created code and I find joy in the creation. :)

yesterday while sipping my coffee, I self-injected Ajovy, a 'once a month' migraine medicine. This morning, I can still feel the headache that has been with me for the past 2.5 weeks, but there seems to be a pain ceiling that is limiting the free-for-all throbbing/stabbing in my head. It is an odd feeling, but much appreciated.

Dear fence manufacturers, you are allowed to say "100 meters", or "330 feet". Those are fairly common increments of linear measurement that contemporary humans use. No one needs to know your fence roll is "20 Rod" in length.

well shit. I was hoping to get some groceries today; but the storm is here and the local news is all about cars sliding off the roadway. The grocery store is at higher elevation than me, so it will have more snow, and I'd have to drive through a winding river canyon to get there. No thanks, I'm fine with eating uh... today will be an interesting culinary day. :)

The next step in my fun little development project involves recording some sound effects, AKA creating art assets. There are probably suitable audio files available online, but the goal is to find joy in creating, so I need to record 3 distinctly different 'tick' sounds for a metronome. Record 1 sound, and then tweak it in audacity is also an option. Either way, I need to set up the indoor recording studio.

If you want to build a thriving active community around your software/hardware product, Open Sourcing your software is a great first step. After that, take a look at governance. How is the community run? MySQL and OpenOffice are Open Source, and their governance is why MariaDB and LibreOffice are so popular.

Today I started working on a Control Box for my smart cabin. 5 buttons, with 2 actions each = 10 possible API requests. If I skip the USB port and wire power directly to the board, a Raspberry Pi Pico W will fit in the box, and will convert button presses to API requests. Python is in my future, as is swearing about soldering :)
