Gov Beshear (or KY SecState ?) needs to send Mitch a "voter registration confirmation mail". If he does not respond within one week, he's not registered to vote in KY, and cannot be a Senator either. Done.

I resist the idea that States like Maine should not just go ahead and take ICE agents into custody, let fedgov fight about that in court. No more deferring by default #Maine

Someday I want to discuss the pattern of conservative white men choosing Asian "wives". Also, this is such a great story, even though somebody died. https://www.mercurynews.com/2024/03/21/she-stayed-on-the-phone-as-her-tesla-sank-report-on-death-of-mitch-mcconnells-sister-in-law/

What an embarrassing shit show every time I hear the Traitor POTUS speak in public, especially in front of foreign leaders. To all sane people of the world, I'm sorry, but this is what happens when you mix billions of dollars with the bottom 33% of the intellectual/moral barrel of a democracy.

@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social 1 - There is no "algorithm" - you see posts from those you follow, unless you choose to explore. 2 - Your platform of choice does not make money by selling your personal information.

@blinry@chaos.social One day back in about 1995, I was bored and decided to write a small DOS program to render VGA graphics for a planet orbiting a sun. Rather than simply plotting a circle and rasterizing it over time, I wrote an actual Newtonian physics equation solver for the gravitational pull, and chose mass and distance and angular velocity for the bodies. I basically tuned the params by binary chop and intuition until I had it semi-stable for a minute, and declared victory !

I've been using TurboTax since it was a DOS app, circa 1990. Despite the issue of their interference with free tax software, I still think it's a phenomenal value, as long as you reject their optional data sharing, "partners", and MAX. For about $250 and an hour of my time, it did its job. Filling out the form without TT, unless I was still an EXEMPT student, would be 10 hours of hell I can't afford.

I love living in the woods. I'm sitting on the "throne" in my house, and a guy knocks on my door to ask if he can buy the 20ft culvert pipe in my yard.

Here is a DIY story. I've been doing this shit for 55 years... Start with a need/goal, iterate through solutions, finally deciding on a palette of available materials, methods, tools, skills, and madness. Then just do it.

I have maintained good relations with the birds in my area, and if they gained the unusual size of their ancestors, most of them would be my friends. Even the Crows. My Hummingbird nectar feeder is full. But the Squirrels would be a big problem. @effinbirds

A few years ago, I kind of volunteered to be the cyber security compliance expert in my company. Probably one of the best things I've done as far as career development, and technical learning. Similarly I once volunteered to be the HDMI/HDCP compliance expert. And I actually hate rules. Violate them all the time. But I want to know what they are. Also, engineers need rules to constrain their solution space, it inspires creativity, efficiency, and opportunities for chaos.

Blue state AG's need to just open criminal investigations against all members of the Trump Cabinet and wider Administration. They invent cases at the federal level against "enemies", so if that's OK with the courts, let them drink deeply of it at the State level. Even the Towns they live in should investigate them. It's the new normal. Make them subject to deposition, contempt, arrest if they enter our States without complying.

I can recall in the mid 1970's because of the "Arab Oil Embargo" that our local elementary school system in Akron County, OH, implemented closure of half our school buildings to conserve energy, and we had half day class in our school, the other half was for the closed down school students. Carter wearing a sweater. And that was normal. I wonder who recalls that too.

This is going to be my message to my congressional reps today... SecState Rubio just stated today that he and Trump believe the War Powers Act is un-Constitutional. That's bullshit. Laws and elections they don't like, they ignore. That's lawless anarchy. I apparently need to act accordingly – that’s the new normal. 1/2
