There is a point where all the “thank yous” in corporate responses are annoying and meaningless because they are so frequent that is it clearly copy/pasted. It’s no longer polite, it’s patronizing.

I'm trying to record something but... industrial lawn mowers in suburbia. And gas powered leaf blowers. What a great world it would be if public disturbance was taxed.

Damn. Wordpress or mailpoet really messed up that last post I just did. It wouldn't publish so I kept hitting the button. And it sent 5 email notifications to everyone. I would like to apologize to subscribers but they probably are already pissed off about all the repeat emails as it is.

Capital "S" Skeptics can be very rude. I am greatly annoyed that people think I still associate with that kind of harsh, dismissive thinking. I thought I thoroughly burned that bridge.

Somehow, I think Canadians will be Ok without American goods. They are stronger. The US will likely cave because there are too many weak millionaires who have to keep the business going. It's just embarrassing to have to live through this.

I've heard several times over the last few years that if someone proposed an idea like a free public library system today (or unemployment compensation, or social security, or anything that serves the wider public who aren't wealthy), it would never fly. That's a serious problem for a country.

It's Monday and I've already encountered 3 instances of companies/orgs trying to cut corners but failing because they won't hire, pay or train qualified staff. The product/delivery/service fails repeatedly. Penny wise, pound foolish. The economy is NOT doing well. It's artificially propped up with toothpicks and tape that can't be sustained.

Musing about how the words “raze” and “raise” are pronounced the same but mean exactly the opposite - to tear down to the ground and to bring up. If you are talking to someone, how would you know what they did to the barn?

I need some @Mastodon@mstdn.social help: I can't post my own site links! It's giving me this error. 422: Validation failed: Uri has already been taken. Does this mean only my #activitypub account can post and I can't? I used to be able to re-post with no error.

Fireworks are absurd. They are safety hazards in dozens of ways, cause pollution, create serious distress for veterans suffering from PTSD, wildlife and pets, and are basically a way to colorfully and obnoxiously burn money. Your lame excuses about how cool they are don't compare. https://www.forbes.com/sites/zacharyfolk/2026/07/05/dc-air-quality-reaches-code-purple-after-fireworks-and-heat-wave/

For several years now, I've been seeing seeds for fake flowers for sale across various platforms, particularly Facebook ads. Now apparently they are on Etsy and Amazon. My mother in law bought some over 5 years ago. They are real seeds but do not grow into the flowers as shown because the shape, size, color are impossible. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Don't click on those ads. #bloomscrolling https://www.404media.co/scammers-sell-seeds-for-exotic-ai-generated-flowers...

A good use of AI is to collect and summarize news on a particular subject. However, the recursive loop is building as the report is citing AI-generated websites. The #deadinternet idea is playing out.

Boing Boing used to be so useful. Now it’s misinformation. There is no easy way to comment. It is not true that these notes have been found inside “factory sealed” packaging. It’s obvious someone is slipping them into the gaps in the boxes or bags. #SchuylkillNotes
