Damn.. although my Keychron K8 Pro keyboard is lovely and solid to use.. I hate reverting to a non-split keyboard from time to time as I grab for my mouse far too often. With the Kineses Adv360.. my hands are permanently on the keyboards and the mouse sits inbetween them.. so it's a "conscious effort" to grab for the mouse, but now my mouse is where my right keyboard normally is and my hand "naturally" levitates towards it.. argh! First-world problems...

My youngest loves bikes... my eldest rides a 2014 Yamaha MT-09.. he asked a few mates from the WotBoyz bike club if they'd come and escort his lil bro home from school...... not a bad way to get home ๐ I'd never met the fellas before.. but they were seriously some of the nicest people I've met and were so happy to have surprised and made my youngest a happy kid! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJU7VX9yxVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gafhBgY7pr0

Is there any way of filtering out certain "channels" on phpc.tv? Is this something possible with an account? I love the concept and view videos there.. unfortunately for me, there's certain people who IMO, like the sound of their own voice too much.. so would be good to filter the wheat from the chaff.

Marathon Nextcloud upgrade evening: Migrated an old v24 instance running on bare metal to a home server. Moved from bare metal to a docker compose setup (needed to do this mostly for PHP versions) sitting behind an nginx reverse proxy Gone from nextcloud 24 to 34 Replaced OnlyOffice with Collabora (started with Collabora years ago) Upgraded PHP from 7.4 to 8.5 Glad the instance is finally up to date. Now the upgrades are done, I can migrate the entire setup over to Hetzner ๐

Also discovered Fan Control ( https://getfancontrol.com ) while trying to get the rad fans to play ball and not sound like a Typhoon jet! Loads of configuration for various controls/mappings and open-source (windows only however).

Thought I'd try to understand TWMs. Will definitely take time to get used to, even the basics. I've used FancyZones on Windows for as long as I can remember, where defining the set of zones to place windows into works well. Automagic tiling concept seems a bit weird. A substantial time investment I feel is going to be needed for this. On the flipside I like that the default mindset is keyboard for everything, so there are benefits for sure. Experimenting with GlazeWM (https://...

Not much of a hardware guy really, but it does give a sense of satisfaction building out a new case with decent cable management. Just replaced my youngest's Lian-Li (can't remember the model) with a Phanteks NV5 v2 case and D-RGB kit. Second NV5 case I've built now (middle lad also has one) and really like them. Lots of space, plenty of room for fans and great cable management. The built-in GPU support bar is a nice touch too.

Cloudflare "are you human" verification causing endless loop issues... when you look at their troubleshooting, they list there gems... Or...... I can just not visit the site and take my business elsewhere ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ My privacy is worth more than the few quid I might have saved at your site compared to another open, and USABLE tab/site.

Wow.. I've seen some weird/stupid password requirements over the years, but this one is new to me! The password cannot start with a zero... for reasons of anyone's guess ๐ค Doesn't fill me with confidence that things are processed/stored properly!

Does anyone know if it's possible to create viewable (HTML) artifacts of PHPUnit/Xdebug code coverage HTML output for Forgejo/Codeberg? I was previously using Codecov, which works fine, but I'm migrating things from Github (seems Codecov only supports a few major git providers without at least a bunch of hassle) so looking for an alternative, more "owned" solution. Wondered if anyone else had done something similar?

One plus while chasing a new gig.. it's given me time to finally work on updating my OSS package for HIBP. Replacing some straggling "internal" arrays with more type-defined objects (most were already done) and to go through the codebase and update things to fix the generics errors thrown by PHPStan (mostly for a 3rd-party dependency). Making PHP 8.4 the min version also allows for some code updates in general (package is now 8 years old).

Well that's a shit Friday.. apparently the product team I was the Principal Engineer for, no longer has a requirement for such position (mid-level and AI is apparently enough).. so after just shy of 2 years, I join the ever increasing ticker of recent tech-related redundancies.

Never had a "presentation box" for brake discs before.. but nicely done EBC. Will keep me busy as next weekend's task (along with pads all round) for the GTI. Coilovers to do, then off to Brands Hatch for a track day ๐ #CarLife

WTF!? Why can't the US stop fuckballing about with everything and just let things be as they always have!? ProTip: USA !== TheWorld I sincerely hope the World Cup NEVER returns to the US again in my lifetime.. they've done nothing but turn what should be an awesome world event to an absolute shitshow!

Went for a 'Golden Hour' photo shoot evening with my youngest last week at Battersea Powerstation. Awesome views and were blessed with a sweet sunset. This image snapped with my phone quickly. Need to pull the inages from my actual camera and go through the 300 or so taken to weed out the crap.

@alextheuxguy@fosstodon.org I remember doing these when I was a kid on my Speccy 48k.. not only from magazines, but my ol' man also used to record spoken code on a radio show too (can't remember what station/show it was as I was only ~8 or 9)... good times! ๐๐ค

Awesome mini ride out with my better half on Sunday as part of a '10 hours of riding in May' Strava challenge... driven down this road many times but not ridden it for years (and it would have been a "fly past" on my Cube Litening rather than a cruise).. never noticed the lake here (between Denham and Harefield).. stopped and grabbed a quick snap. As much as I'm a petrolhead... I love riding this bike!

Just when you think things have got slightly better and stress starts to drop...... you get questioned as to why keeping release notes/changelog should be done (apparently it adds too much additional work ๐คฏ ) rather than just getting the rest of the team to essentially use a crystal ball to see what's changed.. they should just dig into the code to check ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ

Never wore one as a kid (they weren't a thing).. I see soooo many people without them.. assuming they all think "it won't happen to me"... yet when it does... you'll be grateful! Grazed knee.. grazed and bruised elbow... stiff neck... would also have had a rather scuffed up face/head (felt the impact on the ground for sure!) Might need some work on/a new derailleur (it hit the deck pretty hard)... but picked up my bose pods, grabbed the bike and rode o...

My youngest Charlie (14) has signed up to do the London to Brighton ride this year, 54 miles, on the MTB that he uses for school! If anyone fancies making a donation to help him hit his ยฃ350 target, we'd both be very grateful. All proceeds go to the British Heart Foundation which has supported my father-in-law for many years as his heart only works at ~18%. I did this ride in 2017 on a 6kg road bike, a 12kg MTB is going to be a challenge but one he's keen to conquer! https://w...

Thought I'd move forward to PhpStorm 2026.2 EAP. I know it's an EAP, but the first file that loads in the project, is a test file from yesterday.. and now there's no ability to run the test with the usual keyboard shortcut and the gutter run icons etc have disappeared.. how does a regression like that even get in there? (not the first time this has happened over the product lifetime). Seriously.. #Jetbrains is becoming a really fucked up company with a massive slop canno...
