@george what @csalzman said -- there's lots of statistical evidence suggesting that all genders -- but men in particular -- aren't building sufficient community and real social networks and are therefore more isolated and lonely than is the historical norm.

Well, my enphase system is completely down, so that's "cool". Trying to get service and support is... not going great! The installer we worked with through the city unsurprisingly went out of business last year.

I am reasonably sure USPS is trying to get this package through every nearby sorting center before delivering it as some kind of stunt. It got to Chicago a week ago and has just kinda been on a meandering tour through Ft. Wayne, Detroit, Hamtramck, and so on since.

Like everything else that sucks right now, young people are not terribly interested in tech. Which makes sense! Our tech ecosystem is by and large a literal nightmare to use unless you are habituated to it gradually and by degree. If you weren't there for the utopian vision-setting and have to jump in here at the deep end, it's only natural to ask "but why".

Does anyone local want a DeWalt DW779 (retail $500) miter saw kit? It has: 1. the shadow cut-line upgrade ($50) 2. a portable stand ($170) 3. a Diablo 100T fine crosscut blade ($50) Local friend price for the lot... say... $300? I am upgrading to a smaller saw for my small shop space :). This one is a heckuva saw, but it is a chonker.
