As of today, the CDC has changed (reverted) their Covid guidance to make the vaccine recommended for all people over 18. In addition to being a smart public health move, this recommendation also means insurance must cover it. Read more here: https://www.cdc.gov/covid/hcp/vaccine-considerations/routine-guidance.html

Craig Venter, a key figure in sequencing the human genome, has died at age 79. Venter's company, Celera Genomics, attempted to use faster, cheaper methods to sequence human genetic code before the government-funded Human Genome Project was completed. https://www.npr.org/2026/04/30/nx-s1-5805891/craig-venter-decoding-human-genome-dies-79

This post brought to you by the account I just blocked doing exactly this. I’m sick of it. Literally and figuratively. Many parts of the country are in a surge rn and most righteous liberals (and a whole of leftists too) can’t even be bothered to slip on a mask for a few weeks. Nevermind actually working towards infrastructural solutions.

When I was in the first grade, I remember that our teacher had us read a short picture book about a farmer, his pig, his cow, his horse, and his duck. Then she asked the class a simple question: how many animals were on the farm? Everybody raised their hand for the answer "there were four animals on the farm." Except for me.
