this is the default view you get now when creating a new Figma document. I hate this industry.

“#Flathub is now accepting AI slop” the Flathub reviewers have blocked over 1,000 slop apps in 2026 alone. that’s half of the verified app count. close to a quarter of the store could have been ensloppified by now! if you want to know what a slopnami looks like, just have a look at this link: https://github.com/flathub/flathub/pulls?q=is%3Apr+state%3Aclosed+label%3A%22AI+Slop%22 #linux #apps #flatpak #gnome #kde #ai

RE: https://mastodon.com.pl/@tragivictoria/116997594169215204 as a social experiment someone should fork GNOME OS and automerge every vibed PR. then release a monthly .iso for people to use. see how it works out. 🙃

RE: https://mastodon.social/@404mediaco/116986805020926545 publishing slop is essentially doing pollution.

RE: https://floss.social/@gnome/116985931062911189 I never knew I needed a counting app and this one is beautiful.

we all laugh about the vanity metrics on GitHub, but if that’s what’s keeping people there, I’d implement star import first thing. “2k stars*” *imported from GitHub on X date. “48 collaborators” “32 forks” it’s not meaningless…

I think it's overdue for #Flathub to start charging for app submission reviews. or charge app publishers $5/month. then hire 3 full-time reviewers with the money.

some people should really look up the definition of knee-jerk reaction. tip: it's not a movement going on for months/years of time.

RE: https://cosocial.ca/@hub/116947697243793933 seeing stuff like this makes me realise companies that have an impact for good are an accident. a glitch in the matrix. something that will get sorted out sooner or later.

gnome.org, guadec.org, and planet.gnome.org should all have a big red banner at the top with “GUADEC LIVE NOW”. the stream is well hidden… #guadec #gnome

RE: https://mastodon.social/@AlexanderVanhee/116835422383823627 yay for snappy starts! what if we had a special day of the month where we all looked at stuff like this?

RE: https://mastodon.social/@jimmac/116696980468008186 it never ends! kind of happy about this though. there’s a steady stream of new apps being supplied. have witnessed the Linux app draught before.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@bagder/116554421875449945 I got it right in the poll! 😂 sometimes it’s hard to stay sane and not go with the hype. it’s a constant self doubt. just keep creating stuff people!

I remember my first serious job in tech as a designer at Intel (I was such a baby), and @iain was always joking about "bespoke hipster software" and "digital artisans". now I'm seriously thinking picking up those words unironically...

RE: https://social.vivaldi.net/@everton137/116613317111584835 “but all companies bad!!1” yes, big companies do a lot of things. some good, some bad. yes, “piracy” exists. but LLM pushers are unique in their ability to destroy culture by twiddling at this speed and scale.

RE: https://toot.yosh.is/@yosh/116487778402803336 it makes it worse actually. I have even less sympathy now. just like when people were (and still are) complaining about slop PRs, they just won't address the elephant in the room.
