    My travel-SIM provider evidently routes through Hong Kong for traffic from Japan, which has made the internet in general considerably less functional. In particular it seems that a lot of Japanese companies block these IPs, making it quite difficult to place orders or interact with stuff

    Tobu, one of Japan&amp;#39;s fairly major railway companies, has about 500km of track, and almost 2000 trains. Metlink/Transdev in Wellington has 150km of track and 83 trains, so I guess that goes a long way to explaining why they&amp;#39;re so infrequent
