my next experiment/project is to add ferromagnetic particals to a non newtonian fliud, then appy oscillating electromagnetic waves to induce stress. I'd like to create a system that lets you dynamically controll viscosity. It'd be so cool to go from totall liquid to nearly solid regidity and to controll that. My intent is to use it for haptics but maybe there could be industrial applications as well?

Gah I'm so excited! I was able to scrape together the money for a cheap and used 3 channel signal generator! That means that I can study the effects of nested tri-coils on MR fluid. I've always wanted to do research that's never been done before, something totally new. As far as I can tell, I'll be the very first to test this! Granted I'm a simple citizen scientist without a uni, so I've no idea how i'd share my results, but I still can't help but be excited :...

So I'm doing a little study on magnetorheological fluids, just as a nobody citizen scientist. but if it sounds interesting I'll be writing about it here. This is casually voiced - if the results are of note I'll write a proper paper. https://tilde.town/~grendel/sci_intro.html I welcome feedback/info from any scientists in here :) #science #citizenscience #research

Big news! I have published my first custom TTRPG map! I'm still learning so it's not professional level, but I dearly hope someone can get some use out of it. You can get it for free here: https://grendel84.itch.io/liberty-battlemap If you do download/use it let me know! #DnD #ttrpg #gaming

@oatmeal@mastodon.social of& this reminds me of a story from the Sandman comic. A man kidnapped and imprisoned a greek muse and it was pretty dark.

The absolute gall of this question. A required question, mind you. I will likely not be getting called in for an interview, but it was totally worth it. #jobsearch #jobhunt #capitalism
