Stop talking as if you give any semblance of a shit about the art and craft of programming. You clearly don’t.

Less code is better code. And you’re response indicates you do not understand that point.

Ted Cruz is a consummate piece of shit, but this is absolutely a stopped clock moment, because he’s absolutely correct on this one point.

Yeah, tends to happen when you nominate an insane imbecile (I know, that doesn’t narrow it down at all) to be in charge of all national health policy

Competent engineers: SLOC is perhaps the worst metric to judge a developer’s performance by LLM-enthusiast tech leadership: hold my beer

For even more fun, look into the FAA’s “regulation” of Boeing, which was effectively “do you ***super duper pinky promise*** that you followed the rules?” Seriously, the verification was done *by Boeing* and then reported back to the FAA

*This* was the red line for the techbros? ***This*** was a bridge to far? Don’t get me wrong, it’s good that they didn’t fold on this point… but fuck, would have been nice if they had taken exception to any of the thousands of red lines the regime has crossed up until now.

Yeah so this isn’t gonna fly in any way, shape, or form. All of that will be cited by companies who are users as trade secrets and proprietary internal documentation. This is a great way for them to force their userbase away from their products. So, yeah… bold move, cotton. Let’s see how it plays out.

Too many people with too much power are making too much money, so they all work together to keep the cash cow going. It’s become pretty clear that’s what the US has reduced itself to at this point. It’s kinda nakedly obvious this whole thing is a giant fucking Ponzi scheme at this point - I’m fairly certain I’m never getting the social security I’ve payed into for my whole career.

RTGs are subject to the issue of half-life - this is a consequence of that type of power source. Though, let’s be honest: we do not have any other sort of power generation technology that would be viable for literal decades on an interstellar space probe. And we definitely didn’t have a better alternative when they were launched.

Well… since excising training data from an existing model is, at this point in time, computationally infeasible in addition to being unprovable… I’m gonna press X to doubt.

Bending spoons are a bunch of no-talent hyper capitalist private equity fuckwits whose core competence involves acquiring companies and cutting any novel, interesting, or long term projects that require any investment whatsoever to the bone, regardless of whether or not said cuts destroy long-term core competencies, and then extracting as much value as possible from the remains until it goes tits up. They are a plague of a company, and they’ve sucked the life out of more than a few companies tha...

I do think there’d be more than a few mutinies and refusals to follow orders all across the board. Perhaps even to the level of the president trying to nationalize (for instance) the Minnesota National Guard, and their commander responding with a hearty “fuck you, eat shit”.
