@coderCyclist this is why i love the rise of the word "opinionated" in software. really leaves open the "this bug is actually a feature... in my opinion" door. also, STDIN at least, is, like, a big deal. people use pipes n' such a *lot*.

getting slack screensharing to behave properly in hyprland has been such an abysmal failure that i am now a reluctant cosmic user.

welp, i legit tried to like cosmic. i was willing to, and did, put in a fair number of tinkering hours but, in the end, there were just too many straight-up bugs and bad (for me) 'design decisions'. next up: niri.

@killick i climbed the tv antenna with my bike to the roof, then rode my bike on the roof. then off the roof and into a shrub. minor scratches, bent front wheel. never told a soul except james hendry who was there to witness it. until today. at eleven, on a pd day took the train to toronto, wandered up and down yonge all day, bought a record (joe jackson's "look sharp"), came home. told no one. coulda just played fortnite instead.

slack screenshare on hyprland is irreparably broken for me. hours of tinkering and zero results. mike says “why don’t you install a second, more mature, de and just log into that for meetings”. so i’m installing cosmic. no. i will never learn.
