Okay. Show me a proof. Mathematical or experimental, your choice.

Wouldn’t it be easier to use a cross-platform backend, even if the interface was vibe-coded?

Their purpose is to be used as a base to build your own system, not something for someone to use as-is out of the box.

I have it turned on. It only shows the last 24 hours.

For now, at least. Keep an eye on it to make sure it has everything it needs and it might survive.

Chi-rho is a Christian symbol, which I don't think has been used as a supremacist symbol (at least in recent years, if it was used historically). I don't see any others in the thumbnail and I'm not going to watch the video. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi_Rho

Why do you use two separate Debian VMs plus a truenas VM running nextcloud?

Wait, is this about the posts from melonhusk@sh.itjust.works? We don't need a new rule for that, they were spamming. Edit: I am also concerned that there are no mod responses so far. Seems like this is a proclamation, not a discussion.

If you have the tools, build it. If you want to buy used, scour govdeals (if in the US) or your local used stuff websites. And ask around your local city, school, college, library for how they dispose of unwanted equipment.

https://www.404media.co/city-learns-flock-accessed-cameras-in-childrens-gymnastics-room-as-a-sales-pitch-demo-renews-contract-anyway/ Does your company want to give them full access to see whatever you're doing? Also, your legal department should know that all of this footage is subject to discovery. Do you have control over retention? (Spoiler: no, you don't, "deleted" footage is still retained: https://arstechnica.com/google/2026/02/google-recovers-deleted-nest-video-in-hi...

How does the connection actually happen? Like for two home users with dynamic IPs, nat, firewall, and/or CGNAT?

How else would you connect to other servers?

That's a copy, not a backup. But you could easily wrap it all up with tar. Edit: does btrfs support exporting snapshots? In any case, you should probably just use a dedicated backup tool.

Only if you root against and use a root backed restore tool. The only native method is seedvault, and think it only supports backing up and restoring to the exact same device.

If it's done properly, sure. Last time this was in the news, they found that AI had an insanely good accuracy at identifying cancer! Until they realized it was because they included the hospital info in the training data, so it was identifying "cancer" by seeing they were at a cancer treatment facility.

Agreed. With that little sun, you'll only be growing shade and shade tolerant plants at best. Most common houseplants fit into this category. And yeah, the soil is probably partly due to the makeup, and partly due to not being warmed by the sun.

Is there a gardening or buy-nothing group in your area? They usually have people willing to trade or give away things, especially clippings for propagation. I’ve amassed a fair collection of nursery pots, plus a bunch of random nice ones, and for some reason since local planters are absurdly expensive ($16-$18 for a plain 10” clay pot with no saucer at the local hardware stores, ridiculous!) I buy them in packs online. Haven’t had any broken in shipping yet. I save and replant tomato seeds e...

Straight potting soil holds way too much water in my experience. I usually mix some other stuff in, including perlite, so that it acts more like soil and less like mud.

Save? Looks fine to me. It might drop a few leaves from the stress of repotting but otherwise it looks fine, if a bit leggy from lack of light. Pothos are pretty resilient. But does that pot have a drainage hole in the bottom? I never recommend a pot with no hole, because any excess water will sit at the bottom and encourage root rot. Put it in a pot with a hole, and give it a good soaking after repotting to reduce the stress. It’ll be fine. Also, don’t worry too much about overwatering (...

Do you need to host it yourself? Codeberg is free, and they handle these concerns for you. But yes, you will need to secure it against hackers and scrapers. Keep user permissions to a minimum, if you allow people to create accounts at all. And run it in a dmz network, so that in case it's compromised they can't access the rest of your LAN.

Assuming they let you BYOD. I know T-Mobile does because that's how I do it. I get used Pixels off eBay for like $200. Carrier unlocked ones like $50 more. But I think only Verizon is the problematic carrier for those.

Yes.

Certainly possible, if the law allows it and the platform accepts it.

I don't think there is any alternative that supports instant notifications without running a service or using the Google push notifications service. The best bet would be to not use the service and poll for messages every few minutes, if Signal supports that.

Obviously, reboot your phone if you haven't already. Try switching to button navigation and back. Maybe turn on enhanced precision/glove mode. There might be a specific setting for screen protectors too. If all else fails, make a post in the official forum or whatever it is exactly. They're not watching here.
