We don't normally get our weather news from a Red Sox blog, but, there's a potential nor'easter brewing that could affect playoff action (rain at least, not snow). https://www.universalhub.com/2026/we-dont-normally-get-our-weather-news-red-sox-blog-theres-potential

If there were a summer equivalent of the French Toast Alert, it would have to be the Hoodsie Alert, and yesterday and today would be 5-Hoodsie days. H/t KarynRambles

Wu just now: Snow emergency, you bet. Storm of potentially "historic proportions." Kids: No school on Mon. City offices, libraries closed. Trash pickup delayed 1 day. Space savers: Yes! Up to 48 hours after end of emergency declaration. Except South End and Bay Village, where you know what you've done. https://www.universalhub.com/2026/snow-emergency-declared-boston-no-school-space-savers-galore #Boston

That was certainly something! But now it's all over but the shoveling, at least here inside 128, right? Well, we could actually see some more snow Weds., doesn't sound like much, but given how much is already on the ground, even a little is too much, so we're only going down to 3 Slices/Elevated for now. https://bostonfrenchtoast.com

You know the old joke about how if you don't like the weather here, wait a moment? Here's what the NWS says about today: "Looking like we'll be experiencing two seasons today." Started out warmish and rainy, but will end cold and sleety/snowy. Maybe as much as 2-inches snowy, although that's more likely westa 495, but still, "reduced visibilities likely during the PM commute." So tonight would be a good night to settle in with...

Dagnabbit! Blame us, we guess: We'd just pulled the French Toast Alert banner off the UHub home page - beginning of April, temps in the 60s, of course it was time. Only it wasn't. NWS says we could see some snow between 10 and 11 p.m. on Tuesday (which seems unusually specific, but whatever). "Little or now snow accumulation expected," they say. So we'll stay at 1 Slice/Low for now, but all of a sudden we feel the need to gnaw our fingernails a little. h...

Some hatch battening required. The Greater French Toast Region probably won't see any snow this weekend (that's more of a Shelbyville idea), but we've got a wind advisory of our very own! So secure those porch umbrellas and your smaller dogs and children. https://bostonfrenchtoast.com
