Donc manifestement quelqu’un a privatisé l’Hotel Lebrun pour son anniversaire (j’habite à côté, ça s’entend). L’inflation ne touche pas tout le monde pareil hein.

I have some vague recollection of an anecdote from the 20th century where some American dude told a French one the « If it weren’t for us you’d be speaking German » cliché, to which the French answered « Well, if it weren’t for us you’d be speaking English ». I can’t remember who was involved. A quick search only brings up the orange moron paraphrasing the former sentence one year ago. He really ruins everything doesn’t he

You know those Gourmet anime where the judges explode in a cloud of particles while shouting « so much umami » ? I always found this a bit upsetting because well, there is such a thing as too much umami. Drinking dashi is just as pleasant as drinking salted water, or sugary water, you get the drill. Tonight I tried something that is right there, between « OMFG » and « That’s too much ». Will try again trying to balance it a bit better. It’s already a 5/5 but I think it could be even better #f...

I managed to do the « overfilled rice bowl » anime trope IRL, my job here is done. The trick is to use a small bowl. #food #cooking

I generally think that a pizza with a non-null fundamental homotopy group (i.e. with a hole in it) is a miss but well shit happens and the dough spent more time than intended in the fridge so Was very good though. #food #cooking #topology

While we’re at it. I intend to soon replace my gas stove with an induction one. One thing that bothers me: since the wok has a comparatively small area of contact, how does it work on induction? Anybody have some experience with that? #cooking

@cmconseils@mastodon.social Ah yes, watched it again (3rd time I think) a few years ago. Still good. I sure hope you’ve watched the « original » movie. Specifically the French version. Having the MC’s love interest be called « Marcel » was a bold choice to say the least.
