In a historic first, Hungary will have to shut down its baseline nuclear power plant providing about 30% of all generation of the country due to water supply issues in the middle of a 40° heatwave. But sure, let us shovel more freshwater and gas turbines at building slopper centers and continue to whine about how tHe SuN dOeSnT sHiNe aLl tHe TiMe https://telex.hu/belfold/2026/07/30/aszodi-attila-paksi-atomeromu-leallas-energiaellatas-egyenes-beszed

#electronics #ask_fedi: do UART/TTL loggers exist, as in, a device one can buy to MITM a TTL connection and log the communication (e.g. in order to reverse-engineer a protocol)? Is this just a logic analyzer or is there something one level of abstraction up?

I've replaced my monitor's 19V power brick with a DC voltage regulator directly hooked into the solar battery pack (avoiding a needless & inefficient round thrip through the inverter) and… I'm gonna need to get into 3D-printing now, won't I… :blobcateyesspin: #offgridFlaki

You could even be wondering if the time to strike might be soon — before European nations fully rearm, before Ukraine develops new weapons that can rea...

On my "self-built battery packs" journey last year I have ordered cylindrical LiFePO4 battery cells from Ali Express from a trusted vendor twice. In both cases they happily hopped over to Estonia in about 2-3 weeks. I am expanding the battery pack with another bunch of new cells and have ordered even more cells from the same vendor, same listing, end of March. I was surprised that the shipping estimate said May but went ahead anyway. So my cells shipped about four weeks ago,...
