RE: https://infosec.exchange/@ulldma/117258384268650865 Toulouse is such a special place for aerospace things! Make sure to also do an Airbus Final Assembly Line visit. You get to spot some nice liveries of undelivered aircrafts and tons of insights into the assembly of an aircraft. https://www.manatour.fr/airbus/

The "breakthrough" from the OpenAI Astra models are the implementation of the concepts from this 2015 paper recurrent neural network paper by Jürgen Schmidhuber from Università della Svizzera italiana. https://arxiv.org/pdf/1511.09249 "The new technique OpenAI is using, known as recurrent depth or looped transformer, allows an AI model to improve its answers by processing the same text multiple times.” https://www.theinformation.com/articles/secret-technique-behind-openais-astra-...

Local LLMs have been super useful to write custom parsers for websites that don't offer RSS (shame on them!) just by passing the list of articles page and prompted to create an RSS feed for them. Qwen 3.8 just one-shotted me a Rust HTML parser to create RSS feeds that I serve on localhost so they show up in my RSS reader with the rest of the RSS content. It just figured out how the cHash works on Typo3 CMSes to create correct pagination queries 🙌

Designer Simon Weckert has created a colourful camouflage shirt that is not detected by some AI video systems. Developed in response to a pilot project to use artificial intelligence (AI) video surveillance at Berlin's Kottbusser Tor, which starts this month, the shirt was designed to stop the user being recognised as a person. https://www.dezeen.com/2026/08/25/digital-camouflage-shirt-ai-video-surveillance-simon-weckert/

It’s a very though day for all these European companies who have been fooled by the Biden administration that the US was an investable region for green energy with the Inflation Reduction Act. NEL, Orsted, Vestas … all getting destroyed in the public markets given that Trump’s motto is going to be “drill baby drill”, and fuck the planet

Shameful behavior from some European member states lacking solidarity with Spain regarding the current developments in #Cueda There's a lot of instrumentalisation going on. Important take-away from HuggingFace: you cannot trust closed weights providers for incident response. They used GLM 5.2 on HuggingFace's own infra to circumvent the provider’s guardrails they were hitting. Also ensured that no attacker data or credentials were leaving their environment. https://huggingface.co/blog/security-incident-july-2026 This is consistent with malware patterns that inject nuclear weapons or biological threats-related text to evade automatic reversing with guardrail...

RE: https://mstdn.social/@Strandjunker/116352713481300858 Bombing bridges and power plants that serve primarily civilian purposes, without clear and immediate military necessity, would violate the principles of distinction, proportionality, and military necessity under International Humanitarian Law. Such actions would likely be classified as war crimes. Yet, most of our leaders are not taking a stand against Trump. Shameful.

Maryna met Sidharth Hariharan in 2024 and started a Lean proof for the Sphere Packing theorems. Now, without any additional input outside the paper and work-in-progress repo, the AI agent Gauss completed the proof for dimension 8 in 5 days, expanding the codebase from 20,000 to 60,000 lines. Dimension 24 optimality and periodic uniqueness were completed in about 2 weeks. https://github.c...
