I keep hearing on podcasts about AI dudes bragging “I’m doing all this stuff with Claudex on my phone during my commute” and all I can think is “mate, why are you commuting”.

That Google email… - Combine personal data to help personalize content and ads - Develop and improve our services - Measure and improve the delivery of ads - Perform other purposes described in Google's Privacy Policy ... sell it to me harder! > If Google services aren’t linked, most features in the services that can be linked will continue to work, but some features that involve sharing data across services will be limited or unavailable. Oh no! 😢

RE: https://kolektiva.social/@MikeDunnAuthor/116630892286035989 If this seems far-fetched, just look at how people accused of terrorism are being dealt with in your respective justice system and note what actions are being classified as terrorism.

Brilliant post by @rjmccall about the use of LLMs on the Swift forums: https://forums.swift.org/t/pitch-narrowed-any/86369/50 This whole thread is fascinating and a great example of the quality of discussions on there, even when the topics or modes of discussion are contentious. (At this point, I hope it doesn’t take a turn further along now 😅)

As we’re approaching summer and the days are getting warmer, it’s important to keep your cats in appropriate containers or they’ll spill on your carpet when they turn liquid. #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon

Der Spiegel reporting that Magyar is “significantly ahead” after ~40% of votes counted. My understanding is that it’s expected that his lead will grow as more votes are counted (presumably due to votes like mail-in votes that skew towards him being counted later) 🤞 https://www.spiegel.de/ausland/wahl-in-ungarn-kommt-das-system-des-autokraten-viktor-orban-nach-16-jahren-an-sein-ende-alle-news-live-a-07e91ba0-2ce3-4253-8456-702bebd6afab?sara_ref=re-so-app-sh

You can lament that there aren’t more journalists, artists, politicians on Mastodon. AI folks not so much. You can’t read a news article, listen to a podcast, look through a product description without getting slopped in the face with AI. AI doesn’t need to permeate everything.

Germany is considering a general speed limit (which is kinda like US folks turning over their guns) thanks to the Trump-made Epstein Oil Crisis. If there’s any silver lining to all this BS, it’s that it’s going to enable or accelerate climate saving policies.

Any pointers for a Mac app to draw simple floor plans? What I'm looking to do is making drawing floor plans for our #TTRPG a little easier. Doesn't need to be super fancy or have a lot of bells and whistles. Just a little more than the basic vector drawing programs I've been going with so far. Could have some standard options for stairs and doors and perhaps basic furniture, for instance. Doesn't need to be free but also shouldn't be super pricey. Any...

I'm listening to last week's Vergecast where they interview the Claude Code developer and I need to post here rather than shout into the void at home, to the irritation of my cats. They give a medical example, then follow up to say, "it's not intended for medical advice". They give a financial example, then follow up to say, "also not financial advice". (1/3)
