  I subscribe to The Londoner, which has some of the most incisive reporting on London, unlike the propaganda corporate media. This article on the causes of the collapse of Thames Water is enraging and stunning in equal measure. Yesterday PM Andy Burnham lay much of the blame for the UK's current condition on Thatcher.   R.I.P Michael Tilson Thomas, long time conductor of the San Francisco Symphony. He was well known for his Mahler cycle, but I liked his recording of Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras (with Renée Fleming) best. Amazingly, his predecessor Herbert Blomstedt is still conducting at 98 (I heartily recommend his Nielsen cycle, that I first bought as CDs when at Yale in the 1990s).
