“Oh c’mon Keith, perk up! You’ve been drumming for years now, no need to be nervous” he said, the look continuing to grow all the way up to his slanted eyebrows. “I’m not nervous, god, I just kinda don’t wanna be here. Love to drum? Yeah, but actually doing it in front of thousands of people doesn’t transfer well” Keith replied back, losing the bite in his words as his sentence continued. He thanked the gods that Shiro would at least be here with him through this hell called band camp… 🐠 #Band...

“You know these lips aren’t only good for playing the tuba,” Jason Todd, second chair, commented as he cornered Dick Grayson in the dorms. They’d been at band camp for a week. 🐠 #BandcampFriday

Nigel looked up from his beer (Corona for Coronavirus) and locked eyes with... a bin? It walked towards him. Oh fuck. He walked backwards until he hit the wall. All eyes in the room were on him as the bin advanced. 🐠 #CountBinface

The song ‘Light my fire’ starts to play and Beauséjour puts candles on the tomb: then, she lights them and lets the other people pay their respects. Once they finished, Nolwenn uses her tablet and she plays ‘L.A. woman’, her favorite Doors song. After, the bubbly lady kneels and begins to speak: “Thank you so much Jim for bringing your music and your charisma into our world; you truly are an inspiration to us all. May you and your music live forever !” 🐠 #DoorsDay

Maggie thrust Binface upwards into his ship before throwing him through several walls. When he landed, he found himself in the cockpit, lying on the metal floor as Thatcher slowly approached from the hallway, the flickering emergency lights bathing her in red. 🐠 #CountBinface

She turns back to her own desk, eyes raking over the tech she was provided with. God everything is so outdated. She supposes the government hasn’t started switching out the CRT monitors for LCD yet. […] She hears a crackle in her headset and sees the video feed cut out. She holds back a groan. Fuck her stupid fat fucking chungus chud life. She cleans her glasses, reapplies her lipgloss, powders her nose, and gets to work.

There was silence for a moment. Heavy, but not uncomfortable. You leaned forward, forearms resting on the table, letting the soft hum of the library swallow your heartbeat. “And what’s your reputation, Professor Mangione?” His eyes flicked down to your lips and back up again—quick, practiced, like he hadn’t meant to get caught. “Depends who you ask.”

We don’t have time to address the many, many ways such an educational system clearly deeply failed its students, but I would ask you this: think about the Empire. Think about how it viewed women. Ask yourself how the various women leaders - and indeed, leaders of third and other genders – were treated under the Empire.

Moss moves into Chidi’s paradise and brings with him computers, screens, and cables that drape around all of Chidi’s prized books. Chidi smiles and bares it and fights for the covers when they go to bed at night in the too small bed. Chidi can’t bring himself to ask Janet for a bigger bed, or a second set of blankets, and Moss always wins so he’s never cold. 🐠 #mosstodon

The crew was sitting on the deck of the Avatar where it was docked to a Fire Nation port. Sokka used to be paranoid about their team briefings, insisting on having them below deck in case people were listening to their decidedly non-legal schemes. This was before a fellow pirate had informed him that absolutely no one cared what other people were talking about on their ships, why are you so self-obsessed, not everything is about you, Sokka, fucking hell.

Debtor’s prisons in England had always struck me as rather a tasteless response to poverty, when the men in them could be made to be useful members of society, but until then, I hadn’t any idea what I was supposed to do about it.

“Don’t take this the wrong way,” said Crew Manager Ridcully, “but I’ve never understood why a terrible coward would decide to become a fireman in the first place.” “Are you serious?” Rincewind asked, “If a fire breaks out, I’m in special clothing, a helmet, carrying a hose, and surrounded by highly trained professional firefighters! I’d be mad not to be a fireman!” “There’s logic there,” Ridcully admitted, “Of a sort.” 🐠 #TerryPratchettDay

Haymarket Square – Evening The sky was the color of soot, the clouds hanging low and heavy like they too were waiting for something to ignite. The square filled slowly—men in worker’s caps, women with fists wrapped around protest banners, union organizers with grim faces. Louis stood on the edge of the platform, coat buttoned, hair wind-blown, jaw set like stone. Rudolph stood a few paces behind him, coat slightly too large, hiding the bomb in the deep pocket. No one else knew. They had agreed...
