Apparently in #Texas they're suspending voter registrations for persons who are not republican, claiming things like "returned mail" as the justification. Check your voter registration ASAP. #us #voting #vote #uspol

I found a work around for the Chromium integer scaling bug that I have been dealing with for.. gosh, forever now. I could not get this work with Flatpak apps. Use the command: --ozone-platform=x11 I never use X11. I couldn't even tell you if it's installed. Regardless, this fixes the scaling problem with the apps infinitely shrinking because they've been moved to the scaled display. They're never going to fix this bug and that affects all apps that foolishly...

According to this app on Aetherphone, my character is only 4' 11" tall. I am so jealous at the moment. For many, many years I have actually wanted to be this exact height. So it figures that, entirely by coincidence, I may have made my character this height. :blobcatgiggle: #ffxiv

Learned that I have family ties to the Graham family, one of the most troublesome reivers of Scotland, the Dùbhghlas (Douglas) family, and some documentation connecting us the Dunbar (Black Acknes) family, and wondering what to do with this information and how to go about finding more about our clans, families, and histories. A fun fact that I'm reading, the Douglas and the Graham families were frequently at odds with each other and "had a deeply intertwined" history,...

Chalk another one up for the #Linux crowd. :blobcat_sip: They're confirming that this is how they caught the "hacker". Which, to be fair, he was do'n bad. You can't turn this off on Windows. https://www.ghacks.net/2026/07/12/microsoft-confirms-windows-gdid-device-identifier-that-cannot-be-disabled-documented-in-fbi-case-filing/ #microsoft #microslop #windows #fbi #spyware #privacy

A quick PSA: I had previously suggested windscribe as a VPN to use when leaving mullvad, after it's been discovered that mullvad is heavily financially backing fascists. I formally recant the recommendation for windscribe and would encourage anyone to read the following as to why: https://nitter.net/windscribecom/status/1991234536626106606 I feel appalled that I gave them the money and support that I had, but that stops immediately. #vpn #windscribe #mullvad #privacy #security

Zen is an alright browser, don't get me wrong, but dang it I wish that I could use @Vivaldi on Linux. The problem isn't Vivaldi specifically. It's a chromium bug that infects all apps made with chromium, including Discord and other apps. Desktop scaling is broken. It's been broken for a very long time. Apps automatically resize to an ever smaller size when moving between monitors, until they become too tiny to click on.

I am Nordic, I am Celtic. We are people of power, of soul, of culture, and deep internal strength. Starve the parasites. Reject them. Be true to who and what we are. Embrace our symbols, our spirituality, our history and our ancestry. It is ours. They have nothing; no soul, no spirituality, no internal strength. They desperately cling to OUR culture trying to fill the absolute void of their existence. It. Is. OUR beauty. Our history. OUR ancestry. Good night world. #Nordic #Norse #Celtic

Oof. The next part of Arcadion isn't until patch 7.2 in March 2025. Being as we're just into December, that's 4 months yet to go. I'm not convinced that my character's large house is worth $48. Or even $24-ish. So I think I'm out for now. :blobcatshrug: #ffxiv

Every time someone cites "the community" when talking about things they like in Star Citizen, I cringe. Speaks volumes about the person who says it, though.
