Last night I was at Māoriland for the launch of Tainui Stephens book - Kia tau: a life in stories. It's a beautiful book and if you've read any of his work on e-Tangata you'll know the writing will be lyrical and excellent. https://aureliabooks.co.nz/products/9781991301819

Washing my face to get the dust and pollen off after every time I venture into the outside world. I'd bring back giant hats with a swirl of face veil but they'd never survive the Pōneke breezes. Yay springtime! 🌻

Someone on here linked this story about eradicating invasive ants on an island. It took many years, a scientist, a concerted careful effort by community rangers, and the support of the community to make it happen. Thanks! It was a good read. "Tiwi rangers eradicate invasive tropical fire ants in Australia’s Melville Island" by Nick Rodway. https://news.mongabay.com/2026/06/rangers-eradicate-invasive-tropical-fire-ants-in-australias-tiwi-islands/

@flexnib@ausglam.space It's so nice when you don't need to have an alarm. I don't mind waking at 0630 in those cases. feels like a little sneak jump on my day. Of course, I usually need a nap later in the day but that's okay too 😄
