i think it's really, really bad that the most viable way for most websites to defend against attacks nowadays is to have a single company that hosts/defends/funds harassment groups/fascists and provides services to booters who do these kinds of attacks for payment act as a middleman to your server

dear distro package maintainers: when packaging libvips, please ensure that you are marking cgif as a dependency and not giflib libvips doesn't use giflib! it uses cgif and a vendored libnsgif for handling the format!! you are shipping a package with broken gif encoding support!!!!

giving the gram code editor a try, i'd used zed (which it's forked from) a bit before (mostly with my fds stuff) but something has kinda clicked with me when using gram that didn't really click when using zed

i'm a bit curious whether or not anyone has experimented with using a custom index with searxng, since it has support for querying various "offline" providers (e.g. postgresql, elasticsearch, valkey, cli scripts) alongside remote search engines

figured i should bring this up i have a vintage (published in 1980) TRS-80 BASIC booklet targeted towards educators in my possession; unfortunately it's not in the best shape however, with discoloring, some coffee stains, and pen markings inside despite this, however, i've scanned it to PDF in the best quality i could manage; if anyone could help give suggestions regarding how i could clean it up/split the pages for upload to somewhere like archive.org that would be greatly appreciated

Hey there. I really don't like doing this, but things are getting rough financially and I could really use some help to keep things running. https://ko-fi.com/TheEssem https://patreon.com/TheEssem Right now, server costs for esmBot, wetdry.world, and some other assorted things are around $120/month, but this has been growing steadily each month as heavier traffic limits have been put in place and the value of the US dollar has been slowly declining (my provider will only accept euro). i wrote a famicom disk system test program that attempts to read more data from disk during the initial/boot cycle it works on most emulators and an fdskey, but it keeps failing in... interesting ways on a real disk/drive (sometimes it also corrupts/blanks the screen graphics and plays sound)
