Prediction: A track created substantially with Generative AI will wedge itself solidly inside our collective heads and refuse to be evicted in the next 12 months. Think something "Baby shark"-esque

I picked up Silent Hill: Townfall on a whim and while it's not without flaws, it nails the feeling of 90s working class Britain (when it's not just nailing the feeling of desperation required of a horror game)

Spent the morning debugging a confusing networking problem (ARPs from VM not being bridged onto the network). Turns out: NIC driver's haunted. Newer kernel exorcises the bug.

On Friday I successfully booked an appointment (for tomorrow morning), at one of the Berliner Volkshochschulen, to book an appointment for the German citizenship test. I’m not entirely convinced that having to book an appointment to book an appointment isn’t a part of the test; I certainly can’t think of anything more stereotypically German :drgn_3c:

Because the responsible disclosure schedule and the embargo have been broken, no patch exists for any distribution. Use the following command to remove the modules in which the vulnerabilities occur. sh -c "printf 'install esp4 /bin/false\ninstall esp6 /bin/false\ninstall rxrpc /bin/false\n' > /etc/modprobe.d/dirtyfrag.conf; rmmod esp4 esp6 rxrpc 2>/dev/null; true" but but but… I actually have ipsec tunnels :akko_cry: RE: https://social.infinite...

Electronc invoicing is like the most boring topic in the world and yet the amount of human toil that is going to be saved by governments mandating it is incredible

Everyone seemingly getting mad about systemd adding a completely optional date of birth field to user records that is, in reality, only ever going to be filled in on the machines of children administered by parents who want such restrictions enforced, perhaps on machines administered by schools, or by people who want their computer to wish them a happy birthday.
