Oh great and powerful Internet Netizens, hear my plea! I’m working on a game. A point and click game. A murder mystery game. Starting with a script with an embedded player decision tree. The script reads much like a choose your own adventure book. I wonder - would morphing it into a choose your own adventure book when I ask for peer reviews. Do people think that would be more palatable than a script full of forking decision tree notes? It feels like it would. #game #design #adventure #script

I joined the RIFA smoking club this weekend. Took some #Macintosh computers to our #LAVCC meetup Saturday. And reveled in the smell of burning plastic and sadness.

I feel a similar vibe with the vintage computer hobby. And in a different way. Our greatest challenge will be a scarcity of original components followed by the art and craftsmanship dying off. It is critical that we inspire the next generation, or it dies with us. https://youtu.be/c8svUszBVxo?is=I0b2oTpsViwc8n0e

Playing around with alternative opening scenes for my game. The protagonist in the opening scene compares a crowd of people boarding a train at a station to a European Starling murmuration. The music is "Our Story Begins" from the prolific Kevin MacLeod. The video is cut from several CC videos. I'm using Ren'Py to prototype the game while simultaneously building the game in HyperCard. Several HyperCard for Ren'Py developer blog posts and/or videos may...

Train enthusiasts hear my plea! As some of you know, I’m writing the script for a point-and-click game. I am looking for descriptions of vintage train experiences from the 1890s. As an analogy, commander Scot makes a comment to Picard in an episode of TNG that he “could tell the warp speed from the vibration in the deck plates” on the original Enterprise.
