@DataKnightmare@mastodon.xyz TIL @markwyner@mas.to blocks me. I probably would have blocked him, if he followed me, so no big loss, but I always wonder why when someone blocked me. I only see one interaction with him in my downloaded post archive

Does anyone know what this kitchen implement is? It came with, and the glass matches other accessories of, a Hoosier Cabinet. (Genuine Hoosier brand, from 1920s.) It has about the same capacity as the spice jars, maybe 5cm diameter. The caps at both ends unscrew and both caps are open ended with an internal perforated metal filter. It seems too small to be a flour sifter, but it could be for dusting powdered sugar (somehow)

Seen in an "opportunity knocks" $160k real estate listing. Lots of notable things missing. «Bedrooms & bathrooms • Bedrooms: 0 Heating • None Cooling • None Appliances • Included: None • Laundry: None Features • Flooring: None • Windows: Storm Window(s) • Basement: Unfinished • Has fireplace: No» Well they were not kidding about "flooring: none." Looks like someone was trying to add a basement to a building previously lacking one

Macintosh System 7 was released 35 years ago this week (13 May 1991), meaning it is younger today than FORTRAN was when it came out (IBM's specifications paper, at least, was 35 ½ years old, published 10 November 1954)

Driving home yesterday I got curious why I didn't see the weird pointing guy statue on I-280. Turns out Caltrans tore it down six to eight months ago. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/junipero-serra-statue-280-removed/3961340/ Photo from "Roadside Architecture" because I never took a good picture of it. https://www.roadarch.com/giants/ca5.html
