I dont know how to explain to cis people what it feels like to live in your body after spending most of your life living outside of it. #TransJoy

My girlhood is a song that, for so long, only I could hear. Sometimes I tried to drown it out with noise, but no matter what, the song never left me. It just waited for me to play it out loud for everyone else.

Since there are a number of ant enthusiasts here i figured I'd ask: this ant Hill has been here for at least 20 years, and in all of that time I don't recall seeing something like this. A bunch of winged ants are milling about the entrance to the ant hill. I never see the winged ants from this hill, only the unwinged ones doing normal ant business. It seems like some kind of ant politics are afoot. Does anyone know what this is? #Ants

I'm all for metric, but the ignorance of the post currently circulating smugly making fun of acre feet as a unit of measure is annoying. We measure land in acres. In the western and central us, we flood irrigate our crops. You generally build a one foot or so berm around your fields to hold the water in when you irrigate. So an acre foot is in direct correspondence with the number of irrigations you can do per acre. It's a measure of volume that farmers understand viscerally, so they he...

If AI were in fact the future (it isn't) the correct approach to educating people about it would be teaching people statistics so they could understand the strengths and limitations of the statistical modeling theorems on which all "AI" and "ML" are based and therefore understand to which problems models can be applied to with quantifiable results.

Also, not technically new Orleans piano (i guess, but what jazz piano isnt new orleans piano, especially when it's gospel influenced too), but I love Ray Bryant too.

The stream tried to play a single track from a love supreme and like when are streaming companies going to learn that there are some albums you can't play one track from, so anyway im listening to the entirety of a love supreme, which I havent done in probably decades and damn if this isn't one of the most amazing pieces of music ever made.

I know I talk a big game, but in case you're wondering what it's actually like to be around me I just saw an onion headline on this website with a picture of a dad giving his daughter a talking heads record and started crying.

Now, some folks may be asking, "what is transcrime, really?" Friends, our options are diverse, although for those of us who live on the stolen land that is the "United" "States" of "America", we may need to travel a little to find the perfect option. Sometimes, it's peeing! Sometimes, it's talking about trans people! Sometimes, it's having a driver's license. Sometimes, it's obtaining...

When you're trans, so many people tell you how hard it is for them. How hard it is to lose the person they thought you were. How hard it is to adapt to the person you are. How hard it is to use the right name. How hard it is to use the right pronouns. How hard...how hard....how hard...over and over again, excuse after excuse after excuse. Despite telling you how hard it is, almost none of those people will spend any amount of time thinking about how hard your life has been for you.
