If they’re putting the date centres in space I am going to problem with them anymore.

Because it’s not a hill worth dying on. They just want us to use a piece of software, they’re not asking me to kill a basket full of kittens.

I’m not worried about AI launching nukes and destroying the world. I’m worried about idiot bosses trying to replace all human employees with AI and firing everyone. Of course it won’t work but what does that matter, they’ll destroyed the economy by the time they work that out.

I wouldn’t automatically believe him either. I have no idea what prisoners in the US can really expect but at the minimum prisons are required to maintain livable conditions, so that means reasonable temperature, and access to proper sanitation, although not necessarily in the cell itself. I can totally believe the cell doesn’t have access to hot water, due to the obvious safety risk of giving problem prisoners access to hot water, but if that’s the case he will absolutely have access to publi...

They keep promising AI is going to wipe out and keep pushing the date back. It’s not fair to keep teasing it like that.

However over the next five years there will build enough data centres to cover half the planet, and still won’t have invented AGI, but at least we’ll be on chatGPT 19 but then.

They obviously don't pay him enough and that's why he only has the one outfit.

Yeah and they all suck as a result. I keep meaning to have a proper look into it and see if there are any actual dating site / apps that are independent. It's a massive pain because usually you can't really tell if an app is going to be any good or if it's just another clone until after you've already signed up. It's quite the time investment.

I think people's biggest fear with paying for the apps is that they'll end up in a situation where they are just throwing good money after bad and not getting anything for it. Then you get into the sunk cost fallacy and it's really difficult to get yourself out of that headspace. The problem is the apps say that they have recommendations that you only have to pay to unlock but I don't believe them.

    >I'm a white dude of mostly Scottish decent Meaning your great-great-grandfather looked at Scotland at some point in his life. I will never understand the American intense desire to be something other than what they are. You're American and that's fine for the most part You're not anything else. Culture is culture, if you don't brought up in it you're not part of it.

Ok so as a man what am I supposed to do about it? That's the part I don't understand, if women would prefer the bear over the random man (who's statistically probably fine) that's not much good for the species is it.

There is clearly no ID in there, so what they want me to do. Give it to the cops?

  • View post

How are they allowed to just stir up trouble like this? If this were a legitimate grassroots protest the police would be all over it it'll be interesting to see how they respond to this. >"We are seeing white van men not going to chase up quotes because they can’t afford to get there. It could cost them 30 quid to go and give a quote when they might not get it." They are all liars. How far are they driving to use £30 worth of fuel up?

It's alright they'll be out competed by the 5G nanobots.

It’s impossible because Trump keeps doing things it can still be 3:00 in the morning over there and he’ll do something. All Europe seems to have is the Germans, and they keep posting in their weird secret language.

Well all those graphs show is that the cost of batteries has gone down and that as a result electric cars contain more batteries and therefore more range. It doesn't actually show that the individual battery capacity has increased. The third graph that indicates battery performance vs battery chemistry doesn't really show incremental improvement it just shows general improvement but there's plenty of battery chemistries that are worse than pre-existing ones.

It's a big country, lots of cultural differences. Unfortunately the education system is pretty bad here. The only country name we've learnt to spell is Portugal. We're pretty bad at all the others.

Technically it still is a crime since charging money for access to navigable waters is a violation of international law.

I don't imagine trying to trick Iran out of their money is a particularly good long-term strategy anyway. Nothing unless you're going to turn up in a new ship every time.

  • View post

I feel like that would be a fairly normal response. Elevators are not typically found underwater so finding yourself in an underwater elevator is not going to be a particularly reassuring experience. Apart from anything else a cube is not a particularly good shape for holding back water pressure

So the US started a war woth Iran, which resulted in Iran blocking the strat, and now as punishment the US is also going to block it. I get that Trump couldn't think his way out of an unlocked room, but this doesn't seem like much of a strategy even by his low standards.

The problem is it's still cheaper for me to fuel my car up with exploding dinosaurs than it is to buy an EV.
