It's sad that Haskell and OCaml are stuck with such terrible tooling / build systems. I'm partial to OCaml but opam + dune are terrible, and FFI is too complicated (Ocaml LSP is amazing though). If OCaml had better tooling I would use it instead of Rust whenever possible. As is its I'm probably giving it up for now. #ocaml #haskell #rust

Just installed macOS Golden Gate and... not much impressed. Looks marginally better than 26. Some things feel snappy while others, like animations, are noticeably slower.

Hello, fedi-verse! My name is Daniel and I'm a software developer based in Brazil. For the past couple of years I have worked on a macOS app called ImageFlow. It is a node-based image editor for macOS, 100% handmade in Swift, with no AI slop in it. See it here: https://www.imageflowapp.com I'm very proud of the app I've build but it sadly has drained me financially. If you are looking for help in macOS or iOS development please consider getting touch with me. Than...

I have added a free 7-day trial to my node-based image editor for macOS! Check it out at https://www.imageflowapp.com The app itself is a lifetime purchase at the AppStore. I would love any feedback to improve the app. Thanks and have a great day! #apple #swift #swiftui #indiedev #buildinpublic

Hello everyone! I recently did a soft-launch of my macOS app called ImageFlow. ImageFlow is a node-based image editor build for non-linear and nondestructive workflows. I have been working on this non-stop for the past two years and poured my soul on this. I'm currently looking for feedback so I can decide the next steps on the app's development. Get in touch with me if you want a promo-code to test the app. Thanks and have a great day! #Indiedev #macos #macapp #swift #apple

Its so trivial to get key modifiers (command, option, etc) in Gesture Recognizers both in UIKit and AppKit that is puzzling to me why Apple didn't include them in SwiftUI's `DragGesture`. It's something you can do in about 10 minutes by creating a custom gesture recognizer representable. #swiftui #apple #iOS #macos #indiedev

TIL a #swiftui `.inspector` can simply crash your program when you try to resize it (on macOS at least). Not to mention that it can easily mess up the layout of views that are inside it.

Another day another hacky solution to go around SwiftUI limitations on macOS. I wanted to be able to use the "Select All" item from the app menu without having to replace the built items that SwiftUI provides. I was pretty sure that implementing a `selectAll` method in my AppDelegate *should* work but it just would not happen. Turns out you must also make the app delegate conform to `NSStandardKeyBindingResponding` *which doesn't even have this method in it!!* #sw...
