The App Store makes managing subscriptions incredibly easy, but a new type of subscription coming in May will complicate things a bit. I have mixed feelings about it, which I wrote about in the latest Club MacStories Monthly Log. https://www.macstories.net/club/monthly-log-april-2026/

This rocks. Would love to see it in the Books app, too. https://9to5mac.com/2026/02/18/amazon-adds-read-and-listen-mode-to-audible-app-for-immersion-reading-feature/

I thought this show was swept under the rug forever when Apple pulled it last year, so this is interesting to see. https://youtu.be/Uobdx84anoc

From me in the latest Club MacStories Monthly Log: a reflection on why the M1 chip generation has lasted so long in my (and I imagine others’) setup. https://www.macstories.net/club/the-surprising-longevity-of-the-m1/

This is disappointing. 😕 What a wonderfully weird show Palm Royale was. I loved every episode, and I still think it’s worth a watch even though it won’t get a proper ending. https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/02/apple-tv-cancels-palm-royale-after-two-seasons/

So do the new Studio Displays still have A-series chips in them for camera and audio processing? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere, including from Apple, who seemed quite proud of the A13 inside the original Studio Display.

Tonight’s episode of Rooster on HBO gave me the rare gift of a true, deep, unhindered belly laugh. So glad I decided to give this show a try.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@BasicAppleGuy/116267730695521125 Apple has so many names for it, but every device is some shade of black.

If you’re a sucker for revisiting old photos like me, On This Day is an app worth checking out. It resurfaces pictures you took on this day in past years, and I’m very much into it. My review on MacStories: https://www.macstories.net/reviews/on-this-day-my-new-favorite-way-to-revisit-old-photos/

I ran into an iPhone Air limitation I didn’t anticipate, so I wrote about it and the reason I still find the device so compelling in the Club MacStories Monthly Log. https://www.macstories.net/club/monthly-log-march-2026/the-iphone-air-tradeoff-i-didnt-expect/
