Living wage for Hawaii: $31/hr. Minimum wage: $16/hr. A friend's daughter manages a GameStop fulltime for $24,000 per year salary. That calculates (using my suspect math) to $12/hr. And people wonder why their kids are still living at home. Stupid economy! #hawaii #retail #work

Do not pass judgement on others, for that is a form of idolatry.

@KatyElphinstone@mas.to Hi. I'm not autistic but my godson, whom I have known for 30+ years (from his childhood) doesn't lack imagination at all. And he would agree. He's written fantasy stories, paints original imaginary scenes in oil and watercolor, and makes ceramics. Sometimes I think the people making up the diagnostic criteria are the ones that lack imagination.

@AlexCorby Also keeping in mind that some artists abused women, some teachers went into that field so they could abuse children, and psychopathy is a condition that people all across the spectrum of occupations can have...

@AlexCorby Well, Hawaii's present governor is a doctor... and we had a friend who was furious when he ran for office, insisting that since he was a doctor, he should be being a doctor, nothing else. There are also some successful best-selling authors that were doctors. So should we have a world in which you trained for a specific occupation and therefore you can never do anything but that occupation? No, thanks. That was the world of the Middle Ages.

#ScribesAndMakers 3/30. Do birds ever feature in your work? Give an example. One of my active SC is a human thief cursed to endlessly reincarnate into the form of a raven... The ability to fly and the intelligence of a human-raven mind is very useful. And never underestimate the striking power of the wings on a raven that stands 4 feet tall!
