@blogdiva I read the Naked Ape years ago… A couple years ago, I was shocked to see a new book out about the Surrealists. By Desmond Morris. Huh? He’s still alive and writing. And then another book about British surrealists by him came out. Why surrealists? He’s one of them. He paints.

@RobSF Egads, that image scrolled up on my screen and I saw the word “quim.” If not familiar, an older English word for the female genitalia. Designers, it’s not just how it looks to you, you have to think about how it might look to somebody else. As to marketing terms like “real ingredients” always try it by using the antonym of the adjective. “Fake ingredients.”

@MichalJanda @thomas_klopf In a closet I have five cloth bags full of sorted types of cables. Computer and audio and video stuff. I do electronic music. Yes, sorted as to type. They are still all tangled up in their respective bags. Dump out whole bag then search for cable. Being all tangled up, it’s easier to get the mess back into the bag.

@alda My cubicle was across the room from his office. His behavior gave me permission to walk around there barefoot. He did.

@RobSF In college in the early 70’s, being poor students, my roommate introduced us to a southern CA beer Brew 102. It was like less than 50¢ for a tall can. It belonged in the low end of the bell curve of beer. As the Spanish said of beer when they occupied Holland long ago, it tasted like horse piss.

@AlSweigart My entry in software engineering was as a software tech doing testing on a new assembler for the 8086 written by two software engineers ( and then me too later.) As a newbie I did some research on software testing. It turns out that testing is actually harder as you have to imagine unexpected garbage to throw at it. Not just how it should work but how it can be broken. Software that we assume works vs software we know works to some level.

@mayor Back in 1992 I had to deal with a self-thought rock star from Europe. We went into a radio shack store and he flipped out over these. They were like $6 or something. In Europe they were way more expensive. I forgot how many he bought. Lots.
