A friend of mine, Debbie, is looking for new gigs. She does brand identity design, logos, posters, brand strategy, and much more. It's all just really clear and striking work, and I don't quite have the vocabulary to express exactly why I love it so much. She's trans and work has taken a hit since recent anti-trans legislation in India. It would be great if y'all could help her find work, contact details on her site. https://debbiedesigned.it #getfedihired

the memento method of replying to texts: copy all the messages that were sent into a document, delete the chat, and then set a calendar reminder pointing to the document (which may also contain a pre-calculated response) for whatever time makes sense, e.g. 3 days later Useful if you want to seem cool and aloof

One thing you have to learn as you get older is that you don't have to be good at debating. If you're a socialist or an atheist, for example, you think "I have to be able to defend my opinions at all possible times". But you don't need to. Some people are better at it than others. Not everyone has to be able to give a convincing argument in the public sphere.

There's this commentary youtuber called Jarvis Johnson who worked as a programmer long back and keeps saying "we don't know how LLMs work". We do! You can actually read exactly how they work!
