@apc I am watching a lot of shows. So um... let me pick one here. MY RIBDICULOUS REINCARNATION! It is 100% Japanese Weirdness and I am here for it. The goddess is cute af. It leans ENTIRELY into absurdity, the goddess is really cute, it has mixed animation and art styles, uses live action, stop-motion, papercraft, all sorts of wild things to add to the absurdity. Also, the goddess is too cute. #AnimangaFoundit #yuushanorokkotsude #myribdiculousreincarnation

@apc Given the time it is set in, flip phones pop up frequently in Kodomo no Jikan. Here, Aoki-sensei is responding to messages he thinks are from "Ai", a fellow new teacher... but it's actually Rin. ❤️ And I just had to throw in Kuro being evil, too. And Mimi being... Mimi. #AnimangaFoundit #KodomoNoJikan

@tanyelcakmak Neat. Spriggan has been in my backlog for a long time.

@apc I decided, of course, to go with Go! Princess Precure. This took some effort as back when I watched it, I used to DELETE my screencaps (GASP!), so I had very few left and I had to go and skim through episodes (fortunately I still had the fansubs!) to find one of the all-important violin scenes. Here, Princess Twilight makes a lasting, important impression on Haruka. GoPrin is one of the top 5 precure seasons and was my entry point to the franchise. Check it out. #anime #AnimangaFoundit #pr...

Mid(ish) Season update! Part 1! Can I just talk about My Ribdiculous Reincarnation for a few minutes? Let me just dedicate this post to it. Its score on Anime Planet shows a lot of people bounced off of it, likely, IMO, without seeing the brilliance of it. It is a very weird, very Japanese, very funny send-up of the Isekai genre.. and of itself. I mean just look at it! LOOK AT IT! THEY DO CLAYMATION! THEY DO STOP-MOTION! THEY HAVE LIVE ACTION SEGMENTS COMPLETE WITH KUROKO WANDERING IN FRAME! T...

@apc I give you... Cure Peace, the THUNDERSQUEAKER. Oh, and the one what named her such. Check reply for bonus video. #anime #AnimangaFoundit #SmilePrecure

@apc After a lot of pondering and searching of my screenshot archive, I decided to make what I think is my first manga submission. In Call of the Night, Nazuna's frequently seen playing games. Here she's clearly playing a knock-off of Mario Kart, and getting blue shelled right at the end. #anime #AnimangaFoundit #yofukashinouta #callofthenight

My runners-up for #AnimangaFoundit were 16-bit sensation and Onimai. The former of which should've been a gold mine but I didn't actually get many screenshots of. Oh yeah.. there's also New Game!! but my screencaps of that.. tend to focus on Aoba being cute. #anime

@apc For "RIVALS" I'm going with... LEEK-GIRL, from Hugtto Precure. Outshined by Saaya as a child actor, she swore to defeat her one day! (Hugtto is best precure, full stop) #anime #AnimangaFoundit #precure

ANN posted their top 10. I find it invalid. Issues include: Oshi no Ko is not number 1.Frieren is too low on the list.No mention of Champignon WitchShiboyugi is included as anything other than a Dishonorable Mention.#animenewsnetwork #anime #Winter202anime #OshiNoKo #Frieren #champignonwitch #shiboyugi

Winter 2026 was a bloody season for me: I dropped 4 shows this season, one of which I might not have mentioned even starting on. Kunon the Sorceror was that much of a nothing show. I dropped it at 3 episodes in, which is where I also dropped Shiboyugi, because it really was crap, and Wash it All Away because...well I just wasn't interested in what it was selling. Also dropped MHA Vigilantes Season 2 late, giving up on it during the Eraserhead flashback arc. The show just forgot what made it...

Holy crap that Oshi no Ko finale was brutal in the first half. And then it almost immediately forced you to laugh. Such mood whiplash the likes of which I've not seen since I watched Smile Precure! Goddamn this show is good. Oshi no Ko S3: Anime of the Year 2026. Even Frieren must bow to this one. #anime #OshiNoKo #Winter2026Anime

Already talked about the worst, and I feel like talking about the Best Of for Winter 2026 is kind of a foregone conclusion: the top 3 are Oshi no Ko, Frieren, and Medalist, and this outcome was pretty much obvious before the season even started. So, excluding those, what are my picks for the best shows? (Caveat: I did not watch Journal with Witch, though I have noted the buzz around it) Top 3: Champignon Witch, Omagoto (Roll Over and Die), and, surprisingly, The Darwin Incident (which hasn'...

Hear me out on this: Omagoto can be thought of as a rebuttal to Shield Hero. Flum and Naofumi are both ostensibly heroes who are treated terribly and put through hell for no reason beyond cruelty. Both discover their own power and use it to claw their way back to a stable life. But Naofumi becomes an embittered, cynical jackass who trusts no one and treats every interaction outside his circle as transactional. He fights only for himself, and those he deems valuable to him. Sure, he fights to def...

@apc I had been poring over my screenshots and almost decided to use Ruru's head-clock for this week's #AnimangaFoundit -- but another post reminded me of a forgotten icon. Will you make a pilgrimage to the past with me? This iconic pocket watch from Noir is my pick. (also jeezus it was hard to get that cap with it closed) #anime #Noir

I almost suffered a critical screenshot failure, because I could've sworn I had screencapped this scene before but I hadn't. In the end I had to put up with the dub for several minutes to get these shots of Meiling lamenting her unrequited love for Syaoran/Xiaolan/Shao-ran/THAT BOY and Tomoyo comforting her. @apc #anime #AnimangaFoundit #cardcaptorsakura

@apc Alrighty I think I finally made my mind up which #precure to use for this. I mean, there are a lot of options, from the OGs to Hibiki/Kanade to Sora/Mashiro. (The less said of IdolCure the better) BUT two couples stand out in Kira Kira Precure A La Mode: Himari/Aoi and Yukari/Akira, with Yukari being possibly THE most out lesbian in the franchise. But I love Himari/Aoi, so THEY get the spotlight. These screencaps are from the JUST KISS HER ALREADY episode that should've cemented the...

Omagoto always seems to frame shots of Flum and Milkit being lovey-dovey with Eterna in the background looking like she's watching the object of her affections be stolen from her. Come on, Eterna! You can join them! You KNOW Flum and Milkit wouldn't have a problem with it. #anime #Omagoto #RollOverandDie #yuri

@apc Alright, might as well just go ahead and do it. My pick for Villains is absolutely no surprise to anyone who has paid the slightest bit of attention: Joker! No, not the one you're thinking of. No, not that one either. Joker from Smile Precure! He's the most evil, most sadistic, most perverted, most twisted villain in the entire franchise--and he's in a season designed to be "light" and "happy" after the devastating 2011 earthquake! #anime #AnimangaFoundit #p...

@apc And here's my entry for Hidden Gems... a Korean animation called "Copyright Infringement: The Animation!" Oh wait, I meant "DEFENDERS OF SPACE". It's a seriously corny so-bad-it's-good mash up of knock-off Gundam, Transformers, and some other super-robot things. It's rare and I only ever found an English dub. And it's just hilarious, if you can find it. #AnimangaFoundit #DefendersOfSpace #koreananimation #anime
