  I haven't spoken to him recently, and I no longer use Facebook which was the way I spoke to him in the past, but the only military person going for office school I was friends with was a boom operator on a refueling aircraft. Maybe that's why I never experienced any bloodlust from him. Mostly if we discussed his service it was about the boom, about physical training he has to do anyway, etc.

  Nah, all you need is a little time to get used to it. It's my default setting on most of my devices. Once you get used to it, it's much easier to tell am vs pm at a glance, which is helpful when looking at timestamps (I work in IT, timestamps are important.)
