I don't know who needs to hear this but the University of Alberta is killing the music program at Augustana in Camrose. They planned to announce this in May, but the Casavant organ bullshit in Convocation Hall put too much heat on the university, so they just quietly stopped accepting admissions instead. This is a huge blow to music education in Alberta, and no other university offers a similar program. #ableg #abpoli #abed

We’re at the point in Alberta where Ministers of the crown are celebrating the opening of garage doors. That’s it. It’s a garage door. Not an ambulance, no, it’s a garage door. #ableg #abpoli

It was a wrap on Lord of the Rings: Two Towers in Concert last night as we rounded out our sixth show - three in Calgary and three in Edmonton. It’s a marathon, not a race, but every audience was amazing and so worth it. It was so fun to see all the creative costumes in the audience! #yyc #yeg #yycarts #yegarts #lotr

I'm not thrilled with the iPhone Duo. Aspect ratio. It'll require me to retool my apps for this.THE PRICE. CAD$3000 for the 256GB model? Honey, Apple is worth north of $4 trillion. Eat the bubble if you actually cared about your customers. No Face ID. Just give me the option.First, we lost the silence button to the action button, and now the action button is gone too.Wireless charging is still limted to 20W?If I get dust inside the hinge, then what? Is that included in AppleCare? How much...

Hey fellow Albertans, make sure to request a special ballot before Sept 25th for the referendumb. According to the tracker, my ballot still hasn't been mailed, but I'll be voting to remain in Canada and voting NO to the other nine bigoted questions. #ableg #abpoli #canpoli #cdnpoli https://www.elections.ab.ca/request-a-special-ballot/

Disappointed to see the Riverhawks fall tonight, but very proud of the boys for giving it all they got with what we had left of our roster. I was hoping Mitchell Middlemiss would see one more playoff run in his collegiate days, but that wasn't the case this year. The North Division was so tight, it was anyone's game up until Tuesday night. Then it really got serious. Kelowna and Nanaimo pulled it out but having us against Bellingham gave us no chance. Here's to a great season. Ma...

Spending some time with our performance of Stuart Beatch's Chosen Family at Choral Canada's Podium in Victoria this past May... I could sing the first 60 bars of this movement over and over and never get tired of it. I've never performed something that simulates floatedness and contentedness like this. It takes me right to Thousand Palms outside of Palm Springs. That oversold audience in what has to be one of the most rewarding spaces I've ever performed in - St. Andrew's...

Take a moment and sign this petition to ask that airports aren't privatized. You think air travel is expensive now, imagine when there's a profit layer added. Unbelievable that Carney is even floating this idea. #canpoli #cdnpoli https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7453

I'm sharing my Mastodon Canada Administration Tool (MCAT) as a public repo. It would require some moderate retooling for your situation but if you run Proxmox and your instance across VMs and CTs, it might be helpful for you. There is tooling in there for Ubiquiti reporting and a number of applications. All listed in the README. I run this behind Cloudflare Zero Trust. Claude did help me with the jr dev type work on this, for full disclosure. There are hints within the code that Claude lef...

Do you follow any of the teams in the West Coast League? If so, and you have an android device, you really should DM me. The unofficial app has landed in the Apple App Store and I'm hoping it can land in the Google Play Store too. Please DM me if if you want to join the closed beta! I only need six more people to get it into production where it belongs. There's already 63 iOS users, including coaches, players, and players families. I'd really like to see this app get onto the Play S...

Not sure what took out the instance for a few minutes there, power is still on, but maybe there was something upstream with Telus that was hit. Quite the storm tonight. Hope everyone that was out at events and festivals found shelter before it blew in! #mstdnca #yeg #yegwx #abstorm

My PC has been diagnosed as completely dead. A B650 motherboard, Ryzen 9 7800X, and 4 sticks of DDR5 32GB RAM completely dead. The folks at West Edmonton MemEx were super helpful, and I'm glad we still have this local resource. Now comes the slog of fighting RMAs... Thankfully I have a M2 Mac mini I can sub in but I'm pinning that chip just watching a YouTube video and doing work on a second screen.
