"most respondents were far to the left of their own voting intentions. The distribution of their stickers suggested a very strong commitment to the NHS, action on climate, compassion, tolerance and an end to billionaire power. But many of the same people have voted or intend to vote for Reform, which would deliver the opposite." What #Monbiot describes as #RadicalListening in #SouthDevon. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/may/07/technique-heal-britain-division-ha...

'Most of the people we had in mind are dead.' It's tempting to go with the description of this 'war of choice' as the Trump-Netanyahu war: could this have been as bad without a narcissistic idiot and a psychopath clinging to power? However, what are the systemic reasons for the assaults, like the US interest in preventing emergency of regional powers? Numbers of dead need more exposure. https://www.salon.com/2026/03/03/people-we-had-in-mind-are-dead-tr...

I'm really quite resenting generative AI, because it has time to do the reading that I'd rather do myself so that I could learn from it. As a navigator, I've felt deskilled by satnavs. Similarly when any of my skills, like identifying constellations or trees, are usurped by machinery. Now it feels like my very talent for thinking and analysis has been devalued. #ai #tech #genai

Well, I'm very pleased that #MorganMcSweeney has finally gone. His position, from where he seemed to poison the well of politics, was result of a fluke in any case - people often wrongly assume apparent success is the result of skill rather than external factors. He was, as I understand it, largely responsible for Labour dropping anything approaching adequate #climate policies (the ยฃ28bn/year). https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/feb/08/labour-cuts-28bn-green-investment-pledge-b...

Iโ€™ve just sent a postcard to my MP asking them to #StopRosebank - the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK. Can you join me in using this nifty tool? https://stoprosebank.postbug.app/ (Can even beat Royal Mail postage. @stopcambo )

This is an old one from a #marchforscience I also reckon it applies to narcissists everywhere. You can give someone the benefit of the doubt a few times and appeal to ego, but eventually the childish, delusional nonsense becomes too much even for the most patient. The quote continues: "... which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering." #trump #gaslighting #narcissism #DoctorWho
