  This week on #ProFed: the web client now has RSS feeds. Not everywhere yet – authenticated feeds are a harder problem. Every approach I've considered so far is either tooc unsafe, too complicated for regular users, or not supported by most RSS readers. Ideas very welcome. Are you maybe aware, how other applications do that? Are there any other applications at all, that do that?

  This week on #ProFed: I fixed the bug in the message bus. Finding the bug was less of a problem. But the solution, that meets all the requirements at this foundational level, was the real challenge. As a bonus, the message bus is now slightly more efficient and uses fewer resources in most situations.   @chrisstoecker@mastodon.social Da bin ich einer Meinung. Ein Anfang wäre, wenn die grossen Presseorgane zumindest _auch_ im Fediverse aktiv wären. Also z.B. auch der Spiegel. Dann nähme Ausrede den Wind aus den Segeln, dass doch "jeder" bei Xitter wäre und man deshalb da auch sein müsse.

  @afelia@chaos.social Deutschland steht ja nicht alleine da, nur weil die USA sich abwendet. Bis jetzt steht der Rest der NATO noch zusammen und wie man an Grönland gesehen hat, sogar im Zweifel gegen die USA. Deshalb denke ich, Deutschland ist zusammen mit seinen Verbündeten stark genug. Alleine wahrscheinlich nicht.

  This week on #ProFed: federation works in both directions. 🎉 My ProFed account can follow my #Mastodon account, and vice versa. Unfollow works in both directions as well.   This week on #ProFed: federation is working – in one direction. I can follow the ProFed test account from my #Mastodon account. The Follow request is accepted, the Accept is sent back, and the account shows up in the following list on Mastodon. The other direction has all the pieces in place – search, follow endpoint, Accept handling – but there are still bugs to fix. https://joinprofed.social https://codeberg.org/ProFed/ProFed

  @ulrichkelber #savesocial Hauptsache es hat ein grosses Werbebudget. Sonst müsste man ja auf die Empfehlungen dieser nervigen Nerds hören, die nicht nur die Schwarze Magie IT beherrschen, sondern (igitt) immer schon gut in Mathe waren. Und diese Fediverse ist ja doch eh völlig unsicher, habe ich gehört. Geradezu eine Terror-Brutstätte. Da ist man doch dem Admin und seiner politischen Agenda ausgeliefert, hab ich gehört. Und denk doch mal jemand an die Kinder! Folgt der Flasche!

  #ProFed has a logo now – and a running test installation. I've imported a profile using the Profile Importer, which reads an existing website using h-resume #microformat tags. The imported account is already visible in #Mastodon. Follow and FollowUndo activities can already be received, though it doesn't mean anything yet. The plumbing is there. I've started to work on the Profile Importer: a component that reads your existing online profile using `h-resume` #microformat tags and uses it as your #Fediverse profile.
