Feeling way more existential than a Wednesday calls for. Existentialism is for weekends. Don't try to tell that to my brain though. Sigh. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Yโ€™all big updates to one of my PostCSS plugins! postcss-custom-prop-sorting v4.0.0 is out (https://github.com/castastrophe/postcss-custom-prop-sorting/releases/tag/v4.0.0). Sort your custom properties by dependency order, so โ€“-color-base always lands before anything that var()s off it. New in v4: โ€ข Warns on circular dependencies โ€ข Traces the full var() fallback chain โ€ข Ships with type declarations โ€ข 100% ESM

New branding? Who dat? The Allons-y Studio site got a full refresh yesterday, complete with new branding, clearer messaging, and more emphasis on design systems, web components, and accessibility. Poke around: https://allons-y.studio/ Coming soon: a deep-dive into how web components are implemented in Gecko; custom elements and shadow DOM from the engine's side of the glass. #WebComponents #DesignSystems

Curious what is the experience of others in #getfedihired: I am a well-qualified engineer with a good reputation in several communities, a public speaker, leader at enterprise-level companies. I am also openly AuDHD. None of my applications since January are getting through to recruiters (as far as I can tell). Has anyone else noticed this change? I had several interviews last year but everything went silent recently. (1/2)

๐Ÿ˜‚ oh no. I read a post by a young autistic person I follow on instagram and was proud of him as if he's my son. When did I stop being "me too friend" and become "yes my sweet baby child you are amazing"?! ๐Ÿ’œ

I'm not entirely sure I play video games right. <she says while building a json data set for the resources with categories for method (digging, foraging, mining) and location> Next I'll be testing to see if I can get Claude to correctly identify sprite images in a backpack and create collection lists consistently...will open source the skill if it works with any amount of regularity.

My god, I don't expect my furniture to resist a knife attack. Also, love that AI interpreted "wear-resistant" to mean violence and (theoretically,) someone saw this and went, "hell yeah, that goes in the ad!"

Oo some possible shorthands being proposed for defining custom properties: https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/7523 What I love about this thread is the innovative and creative suggestions on how to improve the usage of this feature; a feature that is really quite new itself! so here's what i keep mulling over: the web started as the democratization of information, but now we're drowning in *content*. the signal-to-noise ratio is... brutal. and with LLMs making creation cheap, "real" is becoming a slippery concept. but that's where we come in, right? web standards, engineers, the folks building the *infrastructure* of the webโ€”we're not just moving pixels. we're choosing what gets prioritized, what's a...
