Reminds me of Welcome to the Internet

Really? I find the opposite problem. Ratings are inflated and even utter trash on IMDB is 6 or 7 out of 10. I think part of the problem is that the scale is not used properly. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would consider 5 to be average. Most movies seen are average. Average is well worth watching. 5 is a decent rating as far as I am concerned. I'll even watch a 4 or a 3 if someone tells me that some aspect of the movie was worthwhile. But most people seem to treat the scale as if they only are...

I do this frequently as well. I have about 30 to 45 min after school drop off and work starting and I just have a nap in the car. It's pretty comfortable for a short sleep on a reclined driver's seat. I do 12 hour shifts in the day. Theres and hour long break. Same applies to the night shift overnight and it is normalised for people to find space to sleep in their break. It is about getting this socially accepted in the day.

I started with just a Synology NAS as well and struggles with Docker containers constatantly causing problems and not starting up (or shutting down). Turned out that the Synology hardware didn't have the muscle to run so many services (I had a lot fewer services back then, but it still kept stumbling). The mini-PC seperates the computing portion to be able to do the heavy lifting. Used 7th gen mini-PCs are going to be cheap as they flood the market in coming months as companies ditch machine...

Oh dang, someone asked and I don't have to talk about my server uninvited. Hype! Storage is on a NAS: synology 2 bay NAS with 8TB (media: photos, movies, TV shows, books, comics) and 2 TB HDD (Kopia backup snapshots). I don't need RAID configurations. Important data is already 3-2-1 backed up and if an HDD fails then I'll just replace it when I get to that point. Server: Headless mini PC with Debian with a 12th gen intel, 16gb ram, 1tb NVME (mostly live data, shared folder, game sa...

There's de-googling and privacy and all....thats all great. But it is a completely separate thing to take back attention from distractions, bullshit notifications and letting tech overlords reach into our daily lives and disrupting our focus and attention whenever they feel like it. Notification real estate is hugely valuable and the default for every app should be "off", with further fine tuning as needed. Better bulk settings are needed for notification settings adjustment. [Tec...
