This video about the largest and most efficient engine on earth was striking to me in its pleasant and oddly calming delivery, not to mention the fascinating story within. Dunno - wanted to share. I'm still having a blast with Quicktake for Apple II from @colin_mcmillen. It's pretty cool (and rather geeky) to be walking around in public these days with a QuickTake 200 in my pocket. :-P And new features are on the way... https://www.colino.net/wordpress/quicktake-for-apple-ii/ #AppleII #QuickTake #QuickTake200 #Apple #vintageApple #apple2forever #vintagecomputing #retrocomputing #photography #photo #retrocomputers #cameras #digitalcameras #CRT #floppydisk #vintagetech #t...

I'm glad I upgraded my PC in 2023. Got a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM from MicroCenter in an in-store deal at the time (their combo deals are insane even today) whereby I was given 32GB of DDR5-6000 DRAM for 1 penny. (Its list price in the store was $149.99.) I just did a NewEgg search for the same DRAM kit and found it at $933.99. #RAMageddon #RAM #memory #prices #PCbuilding #PCparts #PC #MicroCenter #PCbuild #DDR5 #DRAM #photo #techhardware #Battlestation #PCgaming #tech #custom...

One of the very most absurd and offensive things that the trump administration has yet done in its destructive reign is surely its Domestic Policy Council (truly a think-tank of historical scholars...) reviewing the work done by the Smithsonian Institution chronicling history over its nearly 200 years of existence and finding it to be "inaccurate" and in need of disclaimers, warnings, and alterations. Here is a group of people with the collective intellectual wattage of a wet...

Amiga people: Do any of the new accelerators that work with the Amiga 2000 allow fallback to the original 68000 by way of a PHYSICAL SWITCH or jumper? I want an accelerator that can be disabled (without using soft-menus to control the state) so that the Amiga is able to fall back to its 100% exact original 68000 state, which some demos require to run properly, due to cycle-precise coding. I have an A2620 68020 accelerator in my NTSC A2000, but it does not have a physical switch (just a soft m...

I have an Amiga 2000 and would like to add a PiStorm accelerator to it - but I want to slot it into the CPU slot on the motherboard with a CPUslot-to-64pinDIP adapter, several of which are currently available out there for purchase. Critically, I want to be able to disable the PiStorm sitting in the CPU slot for 100% fallback to the original 68000 on the motherboard. Is anyone aware of a CPU slot adapter capable of fully disabling the CPU in the slot? I see this unit which has a DIP switch f...

How has no one pushed back hard enough on Apple's "safety filter" being the only Clean Up options for some photos that the ridiculous situation is not yet remedied? It apparently can't be removed and is Apple, I suppose, passing judgement on what photos are fine and what are not. These pics were taken in PUBLIC and are not nude people or some such. But I should be able to take and edit as many photos of private situations as I like, if I wanted to. Is there no way to tell A...
