A peaceful morning coffee after cleaning a big mess. You’d never know the wild raccoon bacchanalia that occurred here at 3am. Several plants smashed and uprooted, votive candles tossed and destroyed and part of a HUGE wasps nest that, alarmingly, I can’t find the rest of. That probably would have been a more captivating picture. Anyway there are filthy paw prints everywhere and the dogs are on edge. Somehow we carry on.

I used to be a boom operator in my 20s and in 1996 I got to spend an AMAZING two months in India working on this absolute garbage movie.

Half of the province is literally on fire and the Prime Minister is out there selling pipelines and scrapping environmental protections. We are unbelievably lucky to be out of the city this week which is simultaneously so nice and rather terrifying as everything is orange and smokey and very hot. I’m outside alternating with worrying and trying to brush up on my very rusty fingerpicking. Stay cool and safe everyone. #AprilComeSheWill #smoke

‘Night everyone, from air-quality 11. Thinking of all the people who have lost their homes. Entire communities, gone, not too far from here. Hope we can fucking breathe tomorrow.

I’ve never done drag but sometimes I like to think of drag names for myself. They’re often food related. like Crème Pât or Barbara Ghanoush or regional, like this one for Ontario peeps that travel north of Toronto on the 400: Holland Marsha https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holland_Marsh

Hilarious that he’s going to put more tariffs on Canada because the smoke is blowing down there, as if this is not all a direct result of the toxic American fart cloud that’s been blowing up here for a hundred years. Anyway we don’t really care because we’ve gotten really good at not buying anything from there or ever travelling there. And no one wants your creepy American diarrhea food.

Hey there, I’ve spent entirely too much time making a deeply weird 5 minute animated short film for which I will have the WORLD PREMIERE in a few days when it’s fully complete. In the meantime, here is a rough sneak preview, which, *SPOILER ALERT* occurs at the end of the MAJOR MOTION PICTURE in question. Enjoy. I love you. #bgm #StopMotionAnimation #music #TinySecretFriend #Evil #TheApology https://makertube.net/w/ijFD6UR8vqrmDdB8wx6BNj

Seeing a lot of this sort of thing, and I think if we look into our hearts we'll realize that Americans feeling a bit sad that the entire world hates them are the REAL victims in all of this.

Good clean fun over at #DisquietJunto I grabbed this bleeps and bloops percussion track from Round 1 and added kind of a spooky cowboy thing to it. Who knows what will happen to it in Round 3? It’s in anyone’s hands now! Maybe yours! New project to me but really digging it. https://llllllll.co/t/disquiet-junto-project-0748-and-a-two-2-3/74562/41?u=bgm

#OpenTuningFestival in our 'hood is a cool initiative with amateur musicians playing from their porches and garages. My youngest was going to volunteer this year but noticed that all their posters and website uses gen ai art. They wrote an (I thought) very constructive comment to the FB group expressing concern about ai stealing from artists and surely there are small local artists that could do illustrations, etc. The mod deleted their comment as “rude and unnecessary.” https://opentuni...

Does anyone put out singles anymore? 🙋 Want a brand new song called Afraid Of Hay? Look no further. https://bgmmusic.bandcamp.com/track/afraid-of-hay Also for this #BandcampFriday : it’s been 10 years since I released my album Lemonade, in March of 2016. A few weeks later, Beyoncé released her surprise album of the same name. My joke at the time was that my next album would be called Abbey Road. Anyway, if you’re so inclined you can get it for 50% off with the code “hay” (no quotes.) https...

@jessamyn So funny you posted this. Just last night I was asking my wife, “what would be the most embarrassing thing we could throw out on garbage day that all the neighbours would see.” I decided that a large portrait of myself would be the worst. Our garbage isn’t that embarrassing but i admit I peel the name and info labels off my prescription meds bottles before throwing them out, just because paranoia.

Greetings to you and yours. Here’s a brand new song I made called Afraid Of Hay. It’s maybe about rejecting your literal surroundings or maybe it’s a metaphor, I dunno I just write ‘em. George, my youngest, provided a tasty dusting of vibes from their pedal steel guitar. I hope you like it. #bgm #music #NewMusic #IndiePop #country #guitars #harmonies #hay https://bgmmusic.bandcamp.com/track/afraid-of-hay https://bandwagon.fm/69c5c71032fa95c24a8f48ba

Olivia (Live 2020 Basement Sweatpants Version) Back at the start of covid me and one of my kids did a sloppy semi-live version of my song Olivia for an online thing. Beer and many false starts but it’s an honest performance, aside from the bass track I put on after. So sue me. Thankfully you can’t hear the dogs galloping above us upstairs, which is one of the many fun perks of recording in our basement. Felt saucy, might delete later. #bgm #Olivia #live #FromABasement #music
